Good point on a standard size and a metric size screws on the Losmandy doveplate. I have the same question

You have to have admin permission to save into Stellarium. Which is a pain to figure out in these newer windows.

Hi Amy, several years later I have revisited your video as other videos on this subject don't work very well for me. I really like your use of Pixelmath here. Just a question I'm sure others would love to know. In the star removal part, the stars weren't removed as well as yours in my picture after using the expression values. Can the values be adjusted to improve the star removal? ps I usually use Starnet2 but I think your method is intriquing.

Is this video really about adjusting the tilt? I think it's misleading. It seems all you've done was to correct the back focus issue (curvature) by inserting the CTU as a smile 17 mm spacer. Could have used just a simple 17 mm spacer ring and saved $150 or more. Where's the tilt adjusting part?

I know for me the weakest part the 12" dob explorer. is that crayford focuser. It really is a big deal to me, after paying what I paid for it. I knew moving forward I didn't want to keep back and forth with celestron. So, I did my diligent research and found a company overseas country Austria company Via Cloudynight and made this overseas purchase that's because no store in the USA sold this product. It's the (micfoc-s | Lacerta 1:10 microfocus unit for SkyWatcher Crayfor) google it. It works way beyond my expectations wow what a difference it makes it fine tunes those DSO's.

Easiest way is to edit the image itself, shifting the horizon up or down as necessary (late I know, but others will read).

Hola, Question about your Stellarium video. How does the app on the laptop know where it is? My phone has a compass etc so can be waved around the night sky and knows where its pointed. Not sure if this is a dumb question from a complete beginner. Greetings from Valencia Spain.

What if you don’t use a field flattener would you still need to back focus? 12:50 I’m a newbie and I just started astrophotography after two years of visual astronomy. Just received my Zwo eco system and all I could see was black image. So much a learning curve. I have Zwo Asiair mini,120 mini guide scope and Zwo asi585 pro cooled camera.

You need a smaller mm eyepiece to see more magnified, fix that in your video, it’s misleading. Otherwise it’s good.

Hi Amy, great explanation! 'm an absolute newbie to PI struggling to manage the first steps. The debayer process is which step in the preprocessing order? Do I just take the calibrated frames the WBPP writes into the respective file?
@AmyAstro9 ай бұрын
WBPP has improved a lot since this video. I use it for my complete calibration process and take the master files from it to start the fun part. The debayer step is included with WBPP. Just check CFA when you see it for images taken with a color camera
