Damn, sometimes the editing of this show throws me off because it doesn't stay focused on a performance shot, but taking everyone's advice and watching it again, I do see now how he loaded the cookie, that was damn clever because it was so natural our brains don't think about it.

i was focusing so much on everything that i was not supposed to focus on, after watching it a second time it was so unrealistically obvious, and i got no clue how the hell i didn't notice, but DAMN was that a great act nonetheless, brought humor into it as well, loved it

I watched this trick about a dozen times when I first met my now step daughters and until their recent teenage years, they had me perform it every time their friends would come over several times a year. I can’t solely credit the trick to my family loving me but it sure helped

@@chrisrosemagic holy crap! It’s the man himself! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used your routine in front of my kids and their friends. It took MANY performances and a few years of time for them to catch me on the load. You had such a simple yet elegant performance. It really has been a bonding moment between my daughters and I each time they’ve asked me to do it. Thank you for bringing it to the world!

I know how it's done and all but I'm still sold, what a fantastic performance. Teller fumbled the bag by not also spitting the milk back into the cup, it would've made the cookie reveal far funnier but still a great gag all around. really, really well done.

Agree 100%. In how many other Fool Us tricks do Penn and Teller completely overlook such a simple trick? It's a testament to the power of simple misdirection.

Also note that he managed the load so smoothly and hidden from *_both_* sides that Teller didn't recognize it from one foot away.

I may not be able to string the whole act together, but I saw how he loaded the cookie. I cant help but feel like Im missing something. Beside the cookie load, the milk didnt return in the same amount that he put in his mouth. So am I missing something? It seemed like Penn knew the trick with the nail and the milk didn't really seem like a trick, so was it really the cookie that fooled him? Or was it something else? And if it was the cookie, I think it was because Penn might have been focused on Teller when Chris Rose snuck the second cookie in. Can someone confirm or deny something I've said?
@vlad9999Ай бұрын
Penn says the dry cookie fooled him, and yes, the cookie load just slipped past Penn and Teller's attention, or they just got tunnel vision and didn't think about the most simple solution.

I just noticed, but in a later season, Teller gives Penn a very concerned look after he asked if he could take a deck of cards from a magician during the act, and not during the bust phase. Penn was very upset at himself for doing, and called himself out for cheating before exonerating himself by proclaiming the magician fooled them anyway. Well, well, well, tell me if Teller didn't just pick up that cookie and take it right there in violation of the show's rules. He effectively took a guess at how the trick was done by taking the prop; and they keep themselves to only one guess. Again, this is a case, where this was a fooler anyway; but it goes to show that he has done the same thing himself.
@sketchythoughts_0Ай бұрын
Rose told Teller to keep the cookie. I reckon he wanted Penn and Teller to inspect it. That or he didn't expect Teller to actually take it.

I don't think teller see him do it fully but he did see him do it Its called misdirection many people use it to try and get them to think it was that he made it look so easy to spot it so to think must not of been that as looked to easy and looked to much of a misdirection to hide the trick that why they went with the more hard slight of mouth route sometimes simple misdirection's get them as they only have 1 guess so it really good tactic to use.

Called misdirection make it look like it was so simple and obvious to throw them off the real trick but sometimes the misdirection is the trick in the hope they think no way was that he must of done that to throw them off the real trick it a 50/50 shot it works and for this one it did.
