Nice, I trained for 30 years in traditional military style (non competitive) TKD. Your patterns and techniques are the closest I have found on the internet to what I learned. No flicky kicks, economy of movement, no weird looking bouncy “sine wave” nonsense, proper turning kick with the BALL of the foot etc. We simply never did turning kick with the top of the foot, useless for self defence, too many small bones to break. Okay I guess for competition point scoring, but what you practice is what you do if you have to use it for real. I could say so much more in comparison of proper self defence TKD (seemingly a rarity) and bouncy, flicky competition TKD but I had better respect personal choice hey. Anyway, starting to got through my patterns again after a serious back injury put a stop to my training, your vids will be a great help as I remember all the moves back to the start of 3rd Dan. Thanks (from Australia) for posting.

I think you need to take your grading again , under ITF TKD this is wrong at many levels

And move 17 should be with closed hands?

I noticed on move 24 you move into a sitting stance and describe the application as a "downward back-fist" rather than a middle front block (as described in the encyclopedia). Is that a convention with AMA? Just curious is all. I have recently moved into a new Taekwon-Do organization and am working with several applications that vary from what I am familiar with, but I always go back to the book when there is a discrepancy. (I most recently trained under GM Choi;s ITF for about 16 years.) I also noticed on move 22 you describe a middle strike to the eyes, although it is a middle straight finger-tip thrust, maybe the solar plexus as a target. These are small things, but I am always curious how the small changes occur and get passed on? They certainly work! Thank you -

Sir if you trained under GM Choi There Is NO NEED to ask a 5th dan ANY questions End of story. I being a 6th Would Never ask a lower belt. ALWAYS refer to the book. Trained with GM Choi a few times and it was UNREAL
