Thanks very much for watching and commenting. Unfortunate about the finish on yours. Although I have not experienced corrosion issue with any of my Sig pistols, I have since read of complaints regarding corrosion with Sig Sauer pistols, and it is unfortunate that Sig will not do anything about it. Customer satisfaction doesn't seem to be a high priority item for them, one would think.

Great! Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing. Welcome aboard! As for your question, I would recommend that you watch my review of the Lightweight Commander Model in .45ACP (Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander - A Heavyweight Lightweight! - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYSnnJelo6-LhZo). The 9mm version, of course, will have less felt recoil and you will have 9+1 round capacity. You won't go wrong with either, because Ruger did it right with their SR1911 line.

What are your thoughts on Ruger's SR1911?
@RangeRoninChronicles
@RangeRoninChronicles 2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and your question. When Ruger first came out with the SR1911, I had to sit back and wait to see what some said about it. Once I made up my mind to purchase one and shoot it, I was sold. Now I have two SR1911 "Full Size", two SR1911 "Commander Style", a SR1911 "Lightweight Commander Style", a SR1911 "Officer Style", a SR1911 full size in 10mm, and this one that I reviewed. I would say that I favor the Ruger SR1911. All have been totally reliable and excellent shooters. I went through a training course with the SR1911 "Lightweight Commander Style." Only about 50-rounds had been fired through it prior to the course. About 500 rounds were fired during the course. I had only one event, a stove-pipe jam, that was my fault (limp wristing) out of the 500-rounds shot. The Ruger was a solid performer. I have full confidence in them.

Nicely done video. I had a Lyman Rem. 58. It had that same dovetailed front sight. But all the other brands did. The man I bought it from said to clean it after every couple cylinders. I loaded it full power with 3F, .457 ball, and lots of ball lube. It never skipped a beat as I'd shoot for hours. Only thing I don't like is the ejector. I never used the ejector on my SAA Uberti. I'd just tap the rear of the grip against my palm and they'd pop out. Know my daughter wants a couple of these with 5 inch barrels to go with her 66 carbine. The 58 was so easy to disassemble, clean, grease and put back together. Great gun. I miss mine.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I also have the Uberti cap and ball version of the 1858 Remington that I am looking forward to reviewing one of these days, along with several other percussion revolvers in the collection. I am still experimenting with single-shot percussion pistol right now. I love shooting these replicas; they are dirty when fired, slow to load, take more care when loading, but there is a sense of satisfaction when they do fire.

I purchased this exact revolver almost 2 years ago. It has been an absolute joy. My love of big bore revolvers led me to begin reloading several years ago. My “house” loading for my Vaquero is very similar. 250g RNFP on 10g of HS-6. Now, for the hotter 45 colt loads I’ve picked up a S&W 460 V (5 inch). Free to explore the world of what the 45 colt and its descendants is truly capable of.

You know I have heard about the Colt Python have a weak action myself. But I have never seen any actual proof of it. I currently own a vintage Colt Python and it has yet to give me any problems at all whatsoever. I have spoken with many many other Colt Python enthusiasts and owners. Literally not one of them have reported any issues with their specific models. I feel the claims of the Python having a weak action is exactly just that claims. Made by weird brand loyalists that have some strange affliction to defend their purchase. Simply to make themselves feel better about their choice of firearm. Personally I enjoy them all and I plan on picking up a 586 to add to my collection. I think between the 3 main revolvers of the time Ruger, Smith&Wesson, Colt a person cannot go wrong with any one of them.

Shooting a pistol at 7 yards doesn't tell me enough about a pistol's accuracy
@RangeRoninChronicles
@RangeRoninChronicles 2 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I agree, shooting at seven yards doesn't prove a thing. The only thing that I prove at my indoor range is that I can point the firearm in the right direction. I use the indoor range primarily for function testing and determine relative accuracy; how well the firearm does in my hands. Sometimes I do well with a firearm, sometimes I don't do so well. I can shoot the same gun on different days and have different results, even with the same ammunition being fired. Did you not watch the outdoor session? That was from 15-yards to 35-yards. I have come to the conclusion that all firearms are relatively accurate, but it's up to the user to prove or disprove that. Now precision shooting with a firearm, that's something different.

I've seen some odd things from Fiocchi and Ruger. They once loaded the .380 XTP within industry OAL, but to long for the Ruger LCP mag which was the best selling pistol at the time. 1. Why would you design a magazine that wouldn't take SAAMI spec ammo? 2. Why would you load ammo that wouldn't work for the single largest potential market?

Great video ! I am newly retired and started reloading. Picked up an "old" Ruger Vaquero , polished stainless, gold engraving with synthetic ivory grips. It was gently used with a couple of leather belts with it. This is my first single shot revolver and I love it. Bought a few boxes of ammo to get me started and now load my own to feed it. Just enjoy all the different platforms with shooting, and I like to take them fully apart. Have not done it yet with her, but probably soon to give it a good cleaning and inspection. Probably won't find anything wrong, because she looks brand new. Thanks for the work.

@RangeRoninChronicles
@RangeRoninChronicles 4 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. I'll only respond by including this: "Some modern single actions have been designed to be safely carried with the hammer down over a loaded chamber-notably the post-1973 Rugers-but in cowboy action shooting the hammer must be on an empty chamber regardless of whether the particular revolver is safe to carry with a full boat. This technique-load one, skip one, load the remaining chambers and come to full cock, then lower the hammer on an empty chamber-will work for any single-action revolver, regardless if it is a five-, six- or eight- or nine-shot cylinder. If you have any doubt as to whether a particular single-action revolver is safe to carry with all chambers loaded, here is a simple examination. Ensuring that the gun is empty, hold the gun up with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and carefully look at the gap between the breech-face of the revolver frame and the cylinder. If you see the firing pin protruding from the breech-face, either on its own or when you apply thumb pressure on the hammer without holding down the trigger, carry it with an empty chamber under the hammer." - How To Load A Single-Action Revolver by Dave Campbell posted on April 22, 2011 (NRA/American Rifleman)

@@johnlong7504 No problem. Had I had "stickeys" I would have done that, but I had to roll without them. The main intent was not to show accuracy, as both guns are more accurate than I am with them, but to show the differences between the muzzle rise between a ported and non-ported barrel. The difference in muzzle rise is really significant with full load .357 magnum ammunition as well as felt recoil - much softer with the ported barrel, although it's hard to tell.

Range Ronin , It's something else how We have found interest in the same pistols, I suppose great minds think alike. I started My quest looking for another great DA/SA other than My Beretta, I saw the sp-01 at shop , I researched it and went back a week later to find it was gone. However I settled on the full size CZ 75 SP-01 DA/SA Tactical w/rail , at first it appeared to be larger than the Beretta, turns out it's exactly the same size . At some point, I'll have to get the Model you're showing here as a better carry size . Your wood grips are Beautiful, the stock grips not as much but provide great grab . I have heard that the decocker Model has a heavier trigger , I find that the safety model is slightly easier DA pull .

Thanks for watching and commenting. I do love CZ products. Now that Colt has purchased them, I am not sure what direction CZ may go, if in any. Aside from the CZ75 compact, there is also the CZ75 D PCR Compact, which I hope to have a review on in the near future (since you go me thinking CZ again). The PCR name stands for ‘Police Czech Republic,’ the group for whom the model was originally designed. "Nearly identical in size to the CZ 75 Compact, it weighs in at a full 1/4 pound lighter owing to its forged aluminum frame, making it more comfortable for everyday carry.) - CZ USA. The CZ75 D PCR is very concealable. The "D" in the designation is for the de-cocking feature of the pistol. The pistol can be carried in double-action mode with or without the safety engaged to safe, or safely carried "Condition 1" - cocked and locked. I do like the de-cocking feature, as it removes some of the risks involved with manually de-cocking the pistol.
