Aw Man. You cant get more emotional than Shawn improv on that fretless axe. Yet there s ppl calling him souless, due to having more speed than even Paul Gilbert, and chops i think he got from the aliens themselves. Hell, this is even more ethereal than stuff Steve Morse do. Oh gawd! This is majestic.

This was probably the first thing Ive ever seen by Lane that I was disappointed by. Fretless is clearly not his instrument. Far too often to have been intended he was off pitch in his player. Especially the quicker parts. Granted, a fretless is insanely difficult to play dead on the pitch, but then dont play it. Lol. Still love Lane. Way better than Ill ever be.
@sixmillionaccountssilenced6721 Жыл бұрын
You didn't get it at all. He's playing microtonal music, that's why he's using fretless. It's very common in eastern music. They use more than 12 notes.

Music producers have turned music into QUEER listening stations. They should let the people decide what WE want to hear on radio. NOT THEM. Jeff was Bad ass. How many other Artist out there with the same talent that will never be discovered in a LEFT WING TRAITOR AMERICA HATING ENVIRONMENT.. We get what they give us. It's as simple as that. Every artist out there should than their lucky stars they made it before QUEER took over.

Buckethead and les claypool are both real good, but they don't compose like these guys here. BH and LC don't have such well thought out and we'll composed arrangements, they both are extremely good at "messing around" with their instruments, making peculiar and interesting things, but they lack the traditional sense of composing and making things flow smoothly and fluid. Buckethead especially does a lot of nonsense, while some sounds cool, it's most unstructured and fragmented.
@gunshotlagoon922 Жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree and I'm a huge fan of Bucket and Les. They are great together and know how to put on a fun show. But their sound is definitely more about stylish edginess done "for effect" that they're almost one trick ponies. The overall musicianship of Lane and Hellborg is just lightyears beyond that in terms of composition and technique and versatility, there's really no comparison.
