These are three remarkably talented people supported by a host of equally talented people as the video shows and in a glorious show only now getting its just due. This is the closest I'll ever get to them, so my heartfelt thanks to those who shared this gem.

My favorite part of the show; this song. Groff comes out with it, unexpectedly, shortly after Old Friends. And it takes your breath away.

Please let us not forget that in 2017 Merrily We Roll Along had a very successful run at the Huntington Theater in Boston with Mark Umbers, Eden Espinosa and Damian Humbley. I saw it 3 times and loved and was moved by every time. To cap off the run Maria Friedman gave a one night only solo concert of "Lenny and Steve" that I went to as well. Very memorable nights at the Huntington Theater.

I played Mary in the 1986 production of Merrily at TheaterWorks Silicon Valley! It was just TheaterWorks then. I even won best actress in a musical from the Bay Area Critics Circle Awards for my performance. We did it 5 years after the much maligned original production on Broadway. It holds a giant place in my heart. I don't have the money to get to NYC (I live in Oregon) but I am supporting and loving this cast and production with my whole heart. I just bought the cast recording. Of course the original cast recording is perfection to me (that overture and all those young voices❤️❤️) but this new one is brilliant!☺️

I love the music but don’t care for the story. Plus the backwards thang that everyone loves just makes it sadder somehow. It’s nice to see them happy and hopeful at the end of the show, but we know from the show’s beginning that they’re neither happy nor hopeful.

Somehow they will struggle along, having a fun gig and enjoying their time on stage.

Travesty they aren’t filming the show for future streaming release. It’s so good. It really is a hit! I still watch the Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods PBS filmed versions. This production would fit in the canon of classics.
@michaelwilliamybarra240911 күн бұрын
Indeed! They already did filmed a proshot for the original West End version of this production in 2013, though. But just to have this cast and arrangement to the score(which I myself am gonna see on my trip to New York in June) recorded, I 100% agree! Besides, Japan was willing to do TWO proshots of the same production of Death Note the Musical, with two different actors as Yagami Light, and this set and direction should be an otherwise near replication of the London production so MABYE there's reason to hope for a promise of such here? 🤞

There are plenty of articles and videos on why it’s so difficult to achieve that. And also the many cases which a pro shot was filmed but never released.

Saw this on Broadway last night. Daniel brought the house down with this number. A long, sustained ovation that subsided after a bit and then resurged. It was incredible.

I feel like crying every time I hear Jonathan sing. I don’t know if I’ve seen a performer who can talk and share their real-life emotions and then seemingly convey that with the same precision in song. It’s truly beautiful.
