Hi Luise, I really enjoyed watching your video. Your home is so personal and so artsy:) I have followed you for a few years but although I don't make journals at present, you were very inspiring while I was making them. I just want to give you a little advise from my experience of home repairs and renovations. If I were you, I would get a tube of sealant and run a small bead along the top of those stick on tiles so that water can't get in along the top edge. Also you could try giving them a coat of Polyurethane to seal the seams. If you can, then try it somewhere inconspicuous. Your English is wonderful and better than a lot of native speakers and I am reluctant to correct you etc., but you are saying diagonal incorrectly and pronouncing the "a" as an "o". The area outside your front door would be called the landing, and inside the door, although some Americans might call it a "foyer", Brits would just call it the hall. Love your your spirit and happy nature and all the best in your new home.

Fabulous song and story!! I'm rewatching all the "D-2024" videos since I've been sick for a while. I think the shop on my postcard will be Luise's Mush Room & Barbara's Rhubarbera Bar., with a picture of both of you sporting butterfly wings. It'll be a little shop where you can pick up exotic mushrooms, rhubarb, and paper died using mushrooms & rhubarbs. The awning will have some mushrooms, etc.! LOL!

Thank you so much for the tour of your new place! It's amazing! I immediately searched on Etsy for vintage mushroom coat hooks. I'll have to "buy you a coffee" so you can find just the right thing for your much room! I saw handmade metal hooks and a cool mushroom print in a German Esty shop! Love all the huge windows and your views!

Hi Luise, a bit late for the give away but would like to say that as a first time participant of Dephemerember, what a great experience it was. As I could not access the videos till evening time, it was nice to sit and relax with a hot drink and something nice to eat and watch what you had to show us😊 that day. I have enjoyed your out of the box ideas and projects. Thankyou for all the freebies and discounts. Have tried out some of the prompts and am having fun. A Big thankyou. 😊💜

I'm late commenting (have been sick since Christmas). "In my eyes," the best part of dephemerember this year was seeing both of you prepare journals for each other and the reveal! When you both flipped thru your new journals, the pure joy was infectious! Loved the unusual challenges and that you were required to use a scrap from your package. Wouldn't change a thing! Love surprises and as a newbie I appreciate all the freebies and discounts! You both are already so generous with your time! XOXO

Dephemerember withdrawals are so hard. I love spending time with you and Barbara. You two are a beautiful team. Thank you so much for your hard work! I’m sure there is SO much behind the scenes. There is such a great amount you share with us. This is the fourth year I joined in with you both. Absolutely love it. Each year has added something valuable. I learn so much from you. Love the way you teach us and encourage us to play and experiment. Things I enjoyed this year: 1. Showing us how to prepare and make the journals, the amount of pages, and the sizes, pockets etc. love those details to help me make one that will work. I honestly thought this will be good for two years, but mine got quite chunky! And I have lots of blank pages! 2. Four days a week…I can keep up and still can get my work done (mostly 😂) 3. Another creative side. What??? Songwriting! 4. Filming ….Ephy crafting. What??? Making animated movies! Even if your phone got left in the refrigerator, oops! Black and white! Upside down? Your creativity is always growing! Hoping it transfers here to me! 5. Your generosity in freebies and discounts, so…well I’d like to say sweet, but heard from Barbara…that is maybe not acceptable, but I’m trying to express my appreciation! 6. How you teach is amazing, love to watch your techniques and experiments. What substitute supplies to use if you don’t have certain ones. I think it really encourages us to look around and see what we have and experiment. 7. Exchanging and using up scraps. Great idea! 8. Hearing the interaction and friendship between you and Barbara And this list can go on and on. Now for the part that’s hard to write because I don’t want to be negative. I enjoyed the past four years immensely! That’s why I come back each year. Things that I personally don’t like, I didn’t do. I’m diabetic, so it wasn’t my favorite to watch you eat those yummy treats. (Jealous) Ephy was super cute, but I rarely used him last year. So this year I enjoyed the prompts and videos more than those previous years. The only thing I personally would like changed, is the language you used when you got frustrated. I know you do can beautiful editing and I think you are one of the most creative people on earth…I just KNOW you can find a creative English word to use that is not offensive. To me that f word opens up a different level. It takes something that should be enjoyed, to something that is now total frustration and no longer fun, a chore. Yes, I’m a perfectionist too, and I want things to go according to plan…but how would we rack our brains for a creative alternative if everything went smoothly. Honestly, I like to see the way you work through a problem and it turns out beautifully in the end. It teaches us that we can either fix it or try again. I think that is something both you and Barbara try to encourage us. I hear that in your videos….if we don’t have this item , maybe we could use this other item instead… so my thinking is if we don’t use that word, we could use some wonderfully creative word instead! That is really my only negative experience through the month. So ultimately I truly love spending time with you and Barbara. Looking forward to next year, hoping that you will put up with my feedback without being offended.

I was really wanting more of your funny, corky videos but I understand it takes a lot of time and preparation into making the Dephemerember. So with said Thank you and Barbara for such an amazing year of Dephemerember 2024❤❤

Bitte weiter so. ❤

I absolutely loved Dephemerember 2024! This is my second time participating in real-time as you post. In the past, I’ve watched the videos but wasn’t able to join during the designated timeframe. I truly admire the authentic way you and Barbara create your videos, openly sharing your creative process-including the “mistakes,” which you turn into inspiring successes. You’ve both motivated me to try new techniques, and I appreciate the way you foster a sense of connection within the international junk journal community. Thank you for a fun-filled month of crafting and the amazing freebies. I’m already excited to see what you have in store for Dephemerember 2025!❤❤

Scream! Shout! Jump for joy! I have just done this effect to your Shabby Chic papers, and what I thought were already beautiful pages have become amazingly grungy and beautiful at the same time. I got a lot of the neon effect on my pages and there’s just no explaining how gorgeous this effect truly is. Thank you so much for teaching this technique.

Alles Liebe, Michaela ❤❤❤

You can use the word toadstool, instead of mushroom. According to Google, there’s no clear distinction between the two. Bonus: it has the word “stool” in it, which is relatable to the purpose of the room. 😉

Thank you Luise…for allowing us to visually visit your home and work place. It is lovely and certainly says you are an artist ! I was very impressed with the wall piece that you had stamped the drawers of and decoupaged them! I have an antique dresser with 7 drawers and I am thinking that it would be beautiful to do the front of the drawers this way, as it is a furniture piece in my craft room that I keep my ribbon in. So I was very inspired as I love the black and white Finish on your drawers. Those green drawer knobs connect it to your other green appliances and paint trims and plants you have throughout your lovely home. IKEA has what are called “display frames “ that you put things into to allow them to be on display. Michaels also sells them. I bought a couple in the past. Your English is very good and you speak very clearly in English so do not be shy or embarrassed about it. Your accent is a very nice one and I enjoy listening to you talk. I sense you really had a close loving relationship with your Grandma and it is clear that you both loved art or that she was a painter from the collection of paints you still have on hand that was once hers. Keeping things we received from people we loved is a way of hanging onto them now that they are no longer with us. I too have a few desert dishes from my Grandma n my mom that are now mine and I will pass them onto my daughter one day. One day my daughter will inherit my craft supplies and tools ect…as she is a crafter as well. I am wondering if you have someone in mind that you will pass all your craft collection of supplies and tools onto one day that loves to craft as you do? In Canada where I am from all our fridges are stainless steel, black or white in colour now…I am wondering if the green is what is popular in your country now or the story behind your fridge and how you came upon it? In Canada a fridge would die and need to be replaced in 7 to 10 years so you have to replace with what is on the market. Last of all since your grandma made the manger of Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus and the 3 kings I am wondering if she was a woman with faith in God and if she believed that Jesus was the saviour of the world for those who embrace him as their Lord and saviour? Many people in Canada who have a manger in their home on display at Christmas time are people who express their faith by doing so. Once again thank you for sharing your lovely home ….I loved the tour and look forward to seeing your craft workplace in your next video in detail. Hugs ! Sarah from Moncton, New Brunswick, in eastern Canada.

I loved this year's dephemerember even more than the previous years. To me it was the perfect mix of prompt, not too complicated but still challenging enough to make me experiment. I could not keep up with the pace, but that doesn't matter to me, because I really enjoyed watching both you and Barbara. I will spend the next couple of weeks making my one ephemera using your the promt list. Thank you for all the effort you put into this and I hope there will be many more dephemerembers in the future

This was my first Defemerember and I looked forward to it with anxious anticipation after watching previous years’ videos. I love that you share not only the physical process, but also the thought process that goes into every single detail. I love how excited you get when you discover something almost by accident. One of my favorite things is that we can craft along even if we don’t have the exact same supplies. The concepts carryover. Another highlight is that there are so many freebies. You are both very generous and gracious with your time and talents! Another thing I really like is the lead up and watching the two of you making journals for each other. I really enjoyed that as much as the actual Defemerember prompt videos. It’s so fun to see your friendship and what you both mean to each other, as well as to this community. Finally, if I have to come up with a negative, it would be that I would love even more than four prompt videos per week. I know it’s not fair to ask for more than that though, and I don’t want to diminish the amount of work that you guys do. Thanks for making this so special and encouraging!

I loved the daily videos and now missing them. Thank you so much Luise for sharing your amazing talent and inspiring me to get out of my comfort zone.
