I have my white notebook too. I had to print it out. You can get away without reading it though. You just need to learn one step at a time. Step 1 - You have to delete some samples to sample for the first time. Step 2 - the Shift button is your friend.

@@hypebeastdad I read somewhere that if you reset the device to factory it would delete all of the samples but that just sounded wrong so I didn't waste my time with it.

Love the honest review, and always love how you share your collection of gear. I have had some fun with this jawn, and used it to pair with other gear which comes out Dope, but I agree, on it's own, it's not something I'd bank on to do a for real for real project. On another note.. I just woke up, and Abelton added something to the Small Gear Wave today, and I watched a few videos, and I'm gonna be a Hypebeast Junior 😂 and add it to my collection lol! The OG OG is the Roland MS-1. The oldest one I’ve got is the 202. Although I’ve got the P-6 and 404 mkii, the 202 isn’t going anywhere, nor is the Yamaha SU-10 or Sampletrak (my fav)

I got my first MS-1 in 95 and have purchased it at least 4 times since. I have one now but I have to keep turning it on and off for it come on. I wished I understood midi better back then. I use the ms-1 for that old school grit but I trigger it from other controllers.

Get converters for it if you're not happy with it's sound. I should have kept my 2500. The 5000 got the worst sound of all legacy mpcs. The Live, Ren, MPC 1 all have trash/weak software sound. Only good for workflow. Sound is what I'm about. I had a Ren, major regret, same as software.

So I can confirm that you don’t have an M1 silicon, so you’re either using an older Apple computer or a PC base computer ,because my faithful Renaissance which I’ve had from day one it’s inception is now totally a book end. Serious with Akai behind this as long as the machine is functioning there should be no reason for me to have to go out by a new MC so just know that if you switch to silicon and you have a renaissance, it will be no good.

Eventhough I have the X which replaced my Renaissance. I do miss it a lot! It was a beast and a tank. Also it felt like the old MPCs with all the new features. Like Restomod cars, Great machine. I sold it manly because it doesn't work with M1 Macs. Shame
