I hate these metal clamps. It took me a long time to install them but I could not, so I went to KZbin to try to find a trick to install these clamps and here I am, I watched the video then I went to the truck and tried the trick in 3:18 but it did not work for my truck unfortunately, then it came to me An idea: I bent the clips a little using lineman's pliers tool, then I was able to install the clips easily. maybe this trick will help someone. Thank you guys, greetings from Saudi Arabia 2003 dodge ram 2500 v10 8.0 , This truck is a beast in the " Rub al-Khali " desert.

You'll likely have to replace that hub/bearing again in a relatively short period of time. Best to use Motorcraft/OEM replacement for this; they tend to last quite a bit longer than cheap aftermarket. At least that's what I've been told. I'm going to be doing this job on my 13 Lincoln MKX shortly. Hoping my hub comes out as easy as yours did (Car has seen it's fair share of salt over the years.....not sure yours has?).

I realize this video is fairly old now but thought I'd share this. I got my recall in March 2024. The letter said I'd get a call when the parts were available. Seven months later and I decided to stop waiting for them to call me so I started calling the dealership - once a week for three weeks. Finally the service writer told me they have no idea when the parts will be available and they will call me IF they get them. Meanwhile some dealerships have the parts on their shelves for sale for about $400. I ordered a set to do both sides from Amazon. Maybe they'll stay on until Ford decides to honor their recall or until it causes a wreck and someone dies. Shame on you Ford (from a 50+ year Ford owner).

You're absolutely right these new ford explorer alternator's are a beast. I had to do one on a 2011 and a 2016 in the same week. The 2011 was actually a little easier as it had just a little more room. The 2016 is a joke for room especially routing the belt not much room at all. This video is well done though! How did you approach the top alternator bolt that is the sticking point for me at this point. The lower I got out pretty easily ;) Edit: Figured it out I was just burned out from doing too much 7mm socket fit just right to get it out :)

Great video thanks! I have a similar Kenmore Elite 38520 that was leaking from the control head. I installed the seal kit following your video and also installed a new venturi gasket. Cleaned all fittings/screens too and no errors on display - hoses are new and clean - no salt clog that I can see. My issue now is the brine tank fills with water and only goes down when I initiate a regeneration. (Empties out mostly during Brine cycle but slowly fills back up - float assembly is clear is free) In reassembling, I was unsure where the 'service' position was on cam and gear so I put it back where it was before disassembly - not sure how to interpret the symbols on cam gear but am wondering if it's smart enough to adjust if need? Could this be related to my problem? Hard to troubleshoot remotely I know but thanks for any ideas! Best, Dave
