@BackyardHobbyBoys I just finished mine so that the window opens up about 12 inches. Now I need to build a screen and the slot for the original screen is on one side. I'll have to figure out how I'll snap in the other. Maybe get a rubber edge and let pressure hold it in. Then, weather strip in the middle of the vent so it kisses the edge of the fixed light.

Glad you got a little inspiration from the videos, I just put mine back in for the year, took me about 5-10 minutes to install.
@56intergalactic5 ай бұрын
@@BackyardHobbyBoys I got great inspiration and I have needed to take it out a couple of times now for finishing. I used a similar design but with pocket holes to the top and bottom as well as L brackets for the unit. I also added a sandwiched insulation with spars to hold shape due to size vertically and a 3 piece design. I color matched the outside to the finish of our house because it was substantially taller and had a bypass fan so the screen port was not necessary. I did stain the inside wood to match my wife's aesthetic and it all worked well. As long as I keep track of the screws I should be about a 5-10 minute install in the future years until we can afford something more permanent.

Warnock-Hersey is a testing lab for stove manufacturers, not a stove manufacturer itself. The Warnock-Hersey model number on a stove indicates that it was tested, but it doesn't identify the stove's manufacturer, make, or model.

Nice job but you should consider a CNC machine, or 3D printer, you could crank a lot of them in a fraction of the time it takes to do it by hand one by one. Or simply buy a kit of 100 pieces for $50. Consider if you make $25-50/hr., the cost of 100 pcs commercially made is way worth it. I am sure it took you at least a few hrs. to make a set of 4 straights and, by hand, the fit is never perfect.

Keep in mind that I've only used it for a couple weeks, that being said, so far so good kzbin.infoUgkxAU9pOCSV9Y5JprooHvfxTpOrt4hx8uRM . Using it at 8 ft. by 8ft. deer blind that is insulated. I have to keep the door cracked for it to get enough air to burn, but that is very likely the wood I've used. Much better quality than I expected for the price. Now if I can just take it easy in the beginning it won't be 90 degrees in my blind. All in all it seems like a keeper.

Can we get some clarification on what the first step is? (Besides buying the wood haha) how are you cutting in the wheel slots? What machinery and tools do we need?
@BackyardHobbyBoys Жыл бұрын
Using a piece of the original track I found a router bit that matches the diameter of the wheel slots. I then used the original track to space out my cuts on the wood so they would match, then using my router and a fence I cut the grooves in for the wheels. For the puzzle piece connection on the ends I used a matching drill bit and a dremal tool to make them but read the comments some people had suggestions to do that part easier.

Get the glass wet, grab a piece of paper/newspaper/paper towel get it wet and dap it in the ash and scrub the glass. I don't usually have to put much elbow grease into it but if this is years and years of baked on crud it might take more.

The only thing wrong is that you don’t have an air gap between the tub and spout.
@BackyardHobbyBoys2 жыл бұрын
The base of the spout is clearly above flood level rim not to mention the 1/2” copper tube in the spout is a few inches above the tub and water would either go in the overflow or if blocked run over the edge of the tub never contaminating the potable water system. But basically it’s the only place I could stick it using the retro kit. Thanks for watching.
