If You like Dirty Loops, perhaps you should check out Jacob Collier… on his newest album he covers “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, featuring Yebba, John Legend and Tori Kelly… You’ll thank me later.

Tool songs are paintings. There are no weak links in the band. They've all won individual rewards. Danny is amazing for sure. Who else could keep up with all the time signatures. Most drummers would struggle to keep up with all the changes much less have smooth fills in the odd meters

Musicians long for and to and look for what is happening at the time. Time signatures changes, so do musicians. Time sigs are tough - something that some viewers may not appreciate.

Here u have "tour" of his set, and he explains everything, i think he's mentioned the name of that person who maked that mandala pads: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYuaoKSNmbKpqpo

I forgot name of person who made that mandala pads, but prototype is maked for Danny to test it, and i think even Danny also helped that person in design of pads, they have 127 rings (fields) for 127 sounds, but Danny using only 3 or 2 fields (more of that rings acrting like one field) for some of that pads.

Jarvis, young one, I love your reactions because you are a performer and you respect the art! So much respect for the music, just like PTX does. The music is the gift! To the performer and the audience! I believe those who believe the music is more important than themselves, they are the ones who become the greats! I would love to see you work! I’m 71 this year, so not performing anymore, but loving always the gift of the music. Keep up the genuine reactions, cause kid, you are special!

So many drummers say that us non-drummers (guitarist/pianist here) have no clue about how difficult this is, but trust me: we DO. Most of us like to think of ourselves as people, who can "somewhat" play the drums too, but all we really know how to do is 4/4 and 2/4, with "interesting" bass drum patterns, lmao. Even when trying to play fills, we use horrible, stiff technique and just wing it. However, while listening to Danny, we DO realize how ridiculous his stuff is. Even when I simply try to imagine doing his hi-hat rhythm with my right hand, I already get cramps, and those are the simplest stuff he plays here here. Let's not even bring up the alien time signatures, ridiculously clean fills and polyrhythms (NONE of us non-drummers can do polyrhthms, get real lol). Watching him as an "outsider" is surreal. It's probably like watching Matteo Mancuso as a non-guitarist, or Jordan Rudess as a non-pianist. There are musicians that you simply ARE in awe of, even if you play a completely different instrument.

How do you know a drummer is at the door? The knocks keep getting faster. No drummer gets the joke, every other band member does.
