I have to use 30 with hi lift because 40 is way too damaging for me. I use it in place of bleaxh so I can fo bold colors over it. The only con is that 30 just barely makes the marks. It gets my hair blonde enough to do the job, but not enough for pastels.

Interesting! It may be the products you’re using, as I’ve never had someone with virgin hair become damaged with hi lift, even when using 40 volume. Bleach on the other hand, I’ve seen damage hair with 10 volume. Not discrediting you at all, but personally in 18 years I’ve never seen it happen using wella and pravana!

There are def times neutral skin can look warm or cool, especially if you have a tan or even the lighting you’re in! My skin is neutral to warm and I find I do best with cool colors. You can test it with shirts to get a better idea, try on both cool and warm colors and see which you feel better in! You may be able to wear both well if you’re a true neutral. Wow, I think 30 volume with a level 12 isn’t enough. Do you have better results with 40 bc I just have a feeling the high lift needs a higher developer
@haveagoodhairday
@haveagoodhairday 9 күн бұрын
? I did use 40 volume! It’s written in the beginning where I shared my formula. Also, there is no such thing as level 12 🙂 the level system goes from 1-10. 12 just means it’s a hi-lift color, and hi lift means it has extra ammonia than traditional hair color, so it produces more lift!

Hey thanks for this. My hair is short and I’ve found I can’t bleach it without meting off my ends. So I tried matrix high light blonde which didn’t break my hair but my roots are so gold. Gonna try Wella’s line next time

Thank you for the video! I'd like to lift level 3 (neutral/slightly warm dark brown) virgin hair to a mahogany brown level 5. Would that be achievable with 30 vol and permanent mahogany brown color (e.g. wella koleston 6.75)? Or would I have to use blonde dye with 40 vol or even bleach?

I'd LOVE to see this same video using permanent color instead of bleach (starting level 4 or something mid-range brunette). Thanks for your awesome videos and very precise work!!! I can definitely do a video using permanent color! But since I am in the process of becoming a Pravana educator, they don’t allow me to use other color lines on my channel. It’s really not much different to use a different color line though, 7N is usually comparable to 7N in another line! Also if you’d like help with how to get to a desired color, I’ve started creating Personalized Hair Color Guides and tell you exactly how to get from point A to point B! laurakcollins.com/guides-personalized-plans/

Ashy colors always appear darker! And all color lightens warm, this is because the underlining pigment is exposed when the natural color is removed or altered, and it’s always red/orange/yellow! The more ya know 😌👌🏻

I recently went to a stylist for an ombré balayage in pink and was left with a very low unblended line around my head. Would this method work with depositing pink? Or does it only work with blending the roots?
@haveagoodhairday
@haveagoodhairday Ай бұрын
Yes it would work with a pink over blonde! They have vivid colors as well. You can get the shampoo and use it only at your root and that harsh line and it will create an ombré affect by rinsing over the ends leaving a lighter pink on the ends
