Is this 5e? Or for the new books that just came out?

How many cards are in your Blorp deck? I think having 27 cards instead of 28 is normal because they removed 1 'Slime time'

There was the female knight that caught Merlin for the king with the stag dream, when Merlin reveals it to mean the queen's handmaidens are actually men who sleep with her.

Not a bad edition, though some questionable choices with regards to rules (or lack thereof) regarding mutant powers. We've got dice rules for rolling attributes and abilities / skills that are fairly clear cut. Mutant powers for some reason are just "so you spend between 1 - 5 moxie, dm decides whether its successful and how powerful it is" but provides no guidance on any kind of sliding scale for success or failure of the mutant powers usage, and all the mutant powers are about 1-2 sentences long, and you're basically guided to make entirely arbitrary rulings on power use. This is a massive failing imo, because while it's ok to tell the dm's to make liberal use of DM fiat, that goes way to far with those. Just feels very lazy to me in that particular area of the game which was disappointing.

Thank you for this! I'm going to run a viking themed game in my table and this was great! I already have a solid set of rules, but as the World Book is a separate entity, I'm definitely going to pick that one up at least. And if it's good, maybe the other books as well 😊
@ShardCollector22 күн бұрын
Sadly it seems the project was not really successful and there is no World Book for this game 😢 But the Core Book contains a lot of setting information, so I'll just grab that instead.

Rtalsorian changed city layout for 2070s because bad people at cdpr couldn't realize in their computer game the whole potential of the original in-universe Night City? That's a corpo compromise right there. 🤬

I have been intrigued with this game on and off for 2 years time but now I am doing further research into Symbaroum from a 5e perspective. For the first time this January 2025 I came across your short video on the players guide and you did a VERY nice job of being informative without wasting the listeners time. I'll continue to research as I will be attempting to offer another TTRPG to my group that basically only play D&D 5e. I also find The Midderlands to be another one that intrigues me but I have yet to find any actual recordings of people playing that game. Anyway thanks much for your clear narration and explanation.

I wish he hadn't gone with 2024 D&D for this. It sucks. He should've just stuck with 5e.

I own all the books for the 5E adaptation and I really like the Eriador setting, as the Loremaster has more creative freedom than in better-known areas. Example: the Tale of Years states that Tharbad was ruined and deserted in TA 2912, but because the books never take the reader there, the game designers were able to make a slight change by saying it was only partially deserted. I think my favourite location is Lond Daer. It's rough and ready, yet there's a real sense of optimism there. The "knights" may wear only hide armour, but they have self belief. One thing the Loremaster needs to make clear to players at the outset of any campaign - if you do something stupid in the Lone-lands, you will DIE!

As someone who was sexually abused by different adults when I was growing up, Arc Dream should have let God's Teeth stay in the fuckin' trashbin. Dude could have done all sorts of other things if he really wanted to "Get a message out", and he could have done that campaign less exploitatively if he would've insisted on sticking with it. Stokes is a smart guy, but not this time.
@XimCines28 күн бұрын
I don't mean to be right but just state some facts. There are very strong issues as the ones you mention that can leave a permanent scar. Most people don't realize or have empathy enough to feel how monstruous those things are (I assume you know that)... unless they have a very close encounter, specially if they happen to be victims. In that regard this helps a lot to sensibilize people, of course on the other side people affected by it will be more than shocked by it. Many other ways of dealing with it are not as powerful, one paragraph pamphlet won't change much but living the hell probably would. So as the interviewer said, it is not for everyone.

Having done both, if you’re interested in this, learn the The One Ring system. It’s so much more enjoyable and captures the setting tone of middle earth far better than the 5e. Take the plunge! It will be worth it!

I haven't played MERP in around 30 years... I used to play Half Elf Warrior... Loved it... The Maiar where what we in Western culture conceive as "Angels" or "Higher Entity Spirits"... Of which the Istari ( Wizards ) were a part of, but they were always called the Istari... Above the Maiar where the Valar... Beings we can relate as "Gods/Goddesses"...
