The basic premise of a moon-based colony with ships (but no jump/warp capability) roaming lost through the unknown stars & planets is a gold mine well in need of plundering. We recreated it once in Spelljammer with a dwarven asteroid roaming through the Astromundi cluster. The original tv series was a wonder and a joy for small children like me growing up in the 70s & 80s

Straight from my youngest childhood. I think I saw two partial episodes of this and it was visually striking enough that I've always remembered. Kind of like "V" (the spider eating lizard aliens, not For Vendetta) and other such tv series of the era

As an American (born in '71) I never heard of Space:1999 until maybe a year ago. I've been watching it recently on Tubi and I love it, or at least the first season. It's an interesting look at sci-fi right before Star Wars came in to change everything. I have no idea what they were thinking with that second season, and changing the opening credit sequence was criminal! It'll be interesting to see what kind of RPG you turn it into. Just be sure to make sure that all the uniforms have bellbottoms.

US fans don't prefer season 2! I have never met anyone that likes season 2 over season 1.

US fan since about 1976. Season 2 is awful thanks to Fred Freiberger! Season 1 for life!
