G’morning Phelps. I love the Bahamas! Been there quite a few times and caught hundreds of bonefish there. It looks like Long Island, is that where this video was taken? Love it, thanks for taking us all along. Ok, I commented early in this video and have to edit now that I saw Ivan get his fish - a nice one too! Probably, not Long Island.

love the content and beautiful scenery. I was wondering if you had any more information into what fly fishing equipment you use and more into your transportation. I am looking into getting into some fly fishing. Any information is appreciate it .

Very cool video! Isn’t permit fishing everything you don’t want it to be until you hook up? Great trip Phelps, thanks for sharing it.

It is a magical place. I fished there the last week of May and spent my last 2 days with Kisy/Giovani. I was lucky enough to get 2 slams and did so the last day with Kisy. A return trip is definitely in the plans. Thanks for the excellent video.

hey Phelpsy - what line were you using for the perms? i've had different opinions on clear tip vs. no clear tip. my bahamas guides didnt like the clear tip, but other people say its absolutely crucial. wanted to hear your thoughts. thanks man

Good question- we were fishing both clear and non clear tips this trip, and both worked. I prefer to fish a shorter leader with a clear tip and fish it in windy conditions when it’s hard to turn over a longer leader. This helps with casting but also allows you to fish a shorter leader without spooking fish as easily compared to a regular fly line. It’s also challenging to track your fly with a long leader + clear tip. If I’m fishing a regular line, I fish a longer leader than the clear tip setup. I typically prefer a regular fly line with a longer leader over clear tip in most cases, mainly so I can easily figure out where my fly is based on the end of my line. Hope this helps!

@@PhelpsontheFly thanks Phelpsy - looking into SA grand slam for perms due to the heavier head to cut through that wind
