Allan will forever be a very important part of the Beatles History : Far more so then many others claim to be : All the Beatles remember him fondly in their reminiscences of those early days John especially: So Allan should always be treated with respect , yes as he rightly said , He did Give the Beatles away bur he took them from nothing to the best band in Liverpool and Hamburg by his hard work on their behalf when not many others believed in them at all : The book was a great read and stands as the very best account of the bands early days and really evokes the people and places of that time : Allan we fans thank you 🙏

It nearly burned down on 12th March, 1941. Incendiary bombs were burning on the roof. The elderly couple who lived there could do nothing. Some Cheshire Regiment soldiers returning from The Pool Inn pub saw the fires and immediately went to help, pulling the bombs from the roof and putting the fires out. The lady of the house asked them to come in for some tea but the soldiers thanked here and refused. They returned to their base at Darley Dene, a mansion further along Breck Road, Wallasey. Shortly afterwards a land mine hit Darley Dene destroying it and killing many of the same men plus two Royal Artillery men who had been lodged there for the night by the RMP. .

It’s so sad to see another Liverpool cinema in such a sorry state. I visited this cinema numerous times. I went there on a couple of first dates, one to see Grease and another to see Back to the Future III. It was also where me and my wife went on an early date to see Hunt for Red October. I believe the last film I saw there was Mars Attacks around 1996. So very sad to see it like that now. Thanks for sharing.
