Thanks for watching Megs, I remember the famous castles by the main entrance on green street and then all the shops on a match day (Nathan’s pie and mash) I’m sad for those businesses because they’re not there at the new stadium.
@Megs1082 күн бұрын
@ShaiExploresDaily it is very sad we don't expect everything to remain the same, but some recollection to the past as reconnecting with your past heritage plays a big part on everyone's life it seems both sad and hurtful that society is breaking that down in every day life now so sad.But people like you Weare thankful for reliving the memories and helping others not to forget thank you .

Those tribute plaques on the floor at the Boleyn ground they was tribute bricks on the wall we kept 4 of my family members when they bulldozed the Boleyn ground I have them in my garden wall.You did have to pay for them.I have so many photos of the old Boleyn ground we didn't renew our season tickets my family and great grandfather's had been supporters of the club since the early 1930's I was 10yrs when I attended my first football match in 1970's no seats in those days but the atmosphere and family ethos was emense We sadly left and have attended only 1 match at the London Stadium in 2016 and none of my family have never attended or bought a ticket since. Yes they sold there soul in my opinion ❤

Hi Megs, it’s awesome to hear about your family history supporting West Ham. Football is so much more than a game, it brings families together. I’m sad that many fans have boycotted the London Stadium but it’s understandable because the move all about financial gain for the club and not about the fans.

At about 10.48 you can also see that one of the new buildings is called Paynter House as a nod to Charlie Paynter, manager of West Ham from 1932 to 1950. There are a few nice touches among the concrete sprawl.
@ShaiExploresDaily6 күн бұрын
That’s awesome, I didn’t know that, was he the longest serving West Ham manager?
@JB-kk5vg6 күн бұрын
@@ShaiExploresDaily No! According to Wikipedia Syd King was manager from 1901 to 1932 - maybe there is also a King House on the old stadium site. West Ham, incredibly, only had five managers between 1901 and 1989! And here am I, in different times, typing this on the day we've sacked yet another one after just a few months.

As I've said elsewhere ; Upton Park was a hairy old place for us away fans to visit back in the day, So if we miss it I can only guess how huge West Ham fans feeling of loss is. The London stadium is a place to totally avoid-and not because of the old ICF either!

Hi. What is the difference between this Oyster Card and the Visitor Oyster Card?
@ShaiExploresDaily7 күн бұрын
The main difference between an Oyster card and a Visitor Oyster card is that Visitor Oyster cards come pre-loaded with credit, while standard Oyster cards do not: Visitor Oyster cards come pre-loaded with credit, so you don't need to load it when you arrive in London. You can choose how much credit you want, from £10 to £50. You can buy Visitor Oyster cards before you arrive in London, while you can buy standard Oyster cards when you arrive. Visitor Oyster card holders receive discounts at some London attractions, shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Whereas you don’t with normal ones. Visitor Oyster cards can't be registered on the TFL website, so you can't top them up online unlike normal Oyster cards. You can get a refund of up to £10 of unused pay-as-you-go credit on your Visitor Oyster card at most Tube station ticket machines, Visitor Centres, or on the TFL website.

@ShaiExploresDaily thank you. My other question is, you mentioned contactless cards. Is that the visa/mastercard credit cards? And if i use this form of payment, do i accumulate the caps for the day like an oyster card?

It’s cool that they’ve got a memorial garden as a tribute to remind people what once stood there. Same way there’s murals and the statue still stands also.

I am coming into London via Euston station then looking to use the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow airport would it be beneficial for any of the Oyster cards or just pay with cash/card once I arrive at the Tottenham court station? I don’t plan on using any other transport like bus it’ll just be to the airport & back. Thanks 🙏🏻

Since leaving our spiritual home of Upton Park and moving into the LS. Our expectations were extremely high. Especially Sullivan stating 'We are now preparing a new West Ham. A top 6 team who can win trophies'. Moyes delivered all of the above. But it was dangerous too. We've never been a top six team. And will remain so until we build a proper football stadium. Not having to play in a soul less athletic track. We're dying at the LS. Something desperately needs changing, and it starts with us by waking up to the fact that right now, We're mediocre at best. What doesn't help are the players who had no intention or interest to put a shift in against Liverpool.
@ShaiExploresDaily15 күн бұрын
I’ve heard that the stadium plan that Sullivan showed the fans wasn’t what the stadium ended up as. Would you have kept Moyes? I heard his style of play wasn’t great to watch. It’s such as shame that West Ham don’t own the stadium.
@joebryant572215 күн бұрын
As a Liverpool fan and also a long admirer of West Ham's history (you guys have the ultimate trump card against any team having a World Cup winning captain and hat trick scoring hero in the same match, has the statue been sorted??) anyway I always DREADED Liverpool's trips to Upton Park knowing a win would be rare and draw a good result. I do not fear going to your new stadium, pushing the crowd way back helps away teams a lot. Don't think you'll be relegated as Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester are awful.
