@@thedangler1371 I bust brush all through turkey season and deer season. I’ve noticed a couple pulls from briars, but nothing that I’d consider major. I’m also careful with it though. It is my outer layer in turkey season, and my outer layer walking in to the tree before i layer more during deer season. It’s a pretty awesome piece.

First off: great shooting Now for the tips: • keep your pack on your back. Will make hoisting your bow a lot easier. • put your bow hanger at a height that allows you to keep your bow grip about chest high. • continue to play with your tether height to find what’s most comfortable for you. • if all the camera gear + hunting gear begins to take its toll on you, consider one sticking to save a little on weight. As well as saving on time. Especially with setting up and taking down all the camera gear.
@EasternWild2 ай бұрын
@@marceide5369 I implement some of these already! thx for watching and also for the tips 🙌🏻 Also, is one sticking really better? I wondered about it and have highly considered going to it. Worry about how much effort it would take to bend down and get the stick to make another move with a heavy pack, and possibly heavier layers on later in the season.

I agree with you about the Sony camera and other lower end 4K camcorders….I ended up with a Canon G40 camcorder that is only a 1080p…I found for KZbin that’s all you need. You just can’t crop as much in post. The footage is really cool and I paid under $300 used. It shot better footage than the Sony 4K I had. Keep up the good work! Let us all know what camera you end up with. I’m looking also.

@@timeintheoutdoors I stepped up but time lol. I went with a SONY A6700 with a SONY 18-200 power zoom lens. Amazing quality and really good low light performance. It was an expensive investment and added some weight to my setup but the pros outweigh the cons!
@timeintheoutdoors2 ай бұрын
@ wow that is a massive investment from what you were shooting. Hope it works out and is what you want. That’s out of my budget for now. How is it for one handed filming options? That is one reason I like the camcorders, I can put a wired remote on them for easy one handed use.

A lot of people are saying the new option cover pattern is close to the ground forest pattern with all of the greens. I don’t know if that’s the one you are referencing but give it a look!
@paulpryor8502 ай бұрын
@EasternWild I think it is the forest pattern. A few years ago, I bought the Tmiberline mid-weight coat and pants in open country. It's good for still hunting and stalking, but not in a treestand. I have some of the new optifade camo, too. It works well, especially above 20 feet. IMHO, the older optifade forest pattern was more versatile. Plus, it was wool on the outside, and as warm as toast in zero degree weather. It always happens! When a company makes something good, they discontinue it......
@EasternWild2 ай бұрын
@@paulpryor850 I 100% agree! They also discontinued the Celsius mid and that was one of their best pieces
@paulpryor8502 ай бұрын
@EasternWild Yep! The corporate motto is to build it cheap and price gouge the hell out of customers. I didn't mind forking over $700.00 14 years ago for the original optifade Fanatic jacket. Or paying a bunch of money for a Woolrich hunting suit. Because they last! My nineteen year old nephew wore my first Woolrich hunting suit. He'll be able to pass it down to his kids. Great video, man. You mentioned you run a bino chest harness. Do you run that bino harness, a pack and the saddle yoke at the same time? Is it doable/comfortable? I like the idea if the yoke straps but this was a dilemma i was thinking on, having that much strapping the shoulders..
@EasternWild2 ай бұрын
@@dangorghuber2362 yes, I run them all at the same time. I don’t know how people saddle hunt without the yolk system “suspenders”. It’s made my life much better while both ascending the tree and also getting dressed at hunting height. I always felt like my saddle was falling off of me while ascending the tree with platforms and sticks hanging from the saddle. The bino harness was another major improvement. I have everything I need at my finger tips. It stores my binos, rangefinder, cell phone, knife, and milkweed pouch. I ascend the tree with my pack on, but hang it at hunting height. None of it gets in the way of one another in my opinion.
