For sitting all day in the coldest weather... Top- Pnuma heated core vest, sitka 330 merino base, ambient jacket, duck oven, incinerator jacket. Bottom- 330 merino base, midi pants, incinerator bibs Extras- flip mitts, neck gaiter, heavy face mask, stocking cap. Two best sitka items on the market... 1. Duck oven jacket (warmest jacket to exist) 2. Midi pants (also insanely warm)

Great review, I too have gotten into sitka, and agree with you on the elevated camo pattern . I am from up north and the elevated pattern also blends in when there is snow on the ground or in the tree. I like the ambient jacket, i layer it under the jetstream for the wind blocker and its an awesome combo. I want to try the stratus, but cant decide on the pants or bibs. I have the fanatic bibs and jacket im thinking the stratus pants for under the fanatic bibs, it might be over kill but walking into the stand and then putting the fanatic bibs might be clutch. I have to say the fanatic set is my favorite gear that i have of sitka. Definitely designed for the bow hunter in mind

I’ve went back and forth so much with the pant vs bib with stratus. I ended up just getting the pant since I already run the Fanantic bib. I’ve still debated getting the bibs though but can’t justify it at this point. The Fanantic line is my favorite too, but I’m thinking about omitting my Fanantic hoody and just wearing the ambient hoody in place of it. I’ve gotten to the point where I like the Fanantic for less layering. Pack it to the stand. Put on bibs at base of tree, climb, cool off, then put on the jacket. I keep my Celsius midi in my backpack in case it warms up in the fifties through the day. I can reduce the jacket and throw the midi on with the bibs and be cozy! Great video. I just got the fanatic jacket and bibs with the exact same philosophy in mind as you. I hate being cold and I also hate wearing a bunch of layers. By the time you layer 3 or 4 layers under that stratus you are at the same level of bulk and weight as the fanatic and less comfortable, and will sweat walking in even if you pack the bibs and jacket it. I can wear nearly nothing on my walk in then throw the fanatic on and be good to go.

I pretty much own everything in the Sitka Whitetail lineup. All the packs All the clothes From the ESW to the incinerator and everything in between. I live and hunt mostly in the NE part of the country where is gets brutally cold late season and hot early fall bow. I hunt NE Kansas every November and it could be warm or freezing depending on the year. The stratus is 100% hands down the most versatile set for a bow hunter just jumping into the Sitka rabbit hole. You can layer under that and get down to the teens without a problem. You can wear that in the 60’s or 70’s and unzip sides if you had to. I wear the ESW or equinox early season Then go to the stratus until temps get below 30. I break out the fanatic once temps drop into the 20’s. Late gun season back at home I will break out the incinerator once temps drop into single digits and below although the Fanatic would do fine in these temps also. I’m a huge fan of the ambient line and the Core Merino line introduced last year . The Core merino 120 and the 220 the 330 line is what I’ve been waiting for from Sitka.

Awesome man! I’m one of the few that jumps into the fanatic earlier than the majority 😂 I have most of it too but I really enjoy not having to layer so much with the fanatic. They makes the bulk easier for me to justify. My fanatic is like being wrapped in a blanket on the couch in the deer woods. The stratus is awesome too! You’re right, Ambient is absolute money! I’m thinking heavily about using my ambient hoody in place of my fabric hoody for n conjunction with the celcius midi and stratus jacket this season 🤙🏻

I agree. I live in VT and I hunt eastern KS every year too. The stratus is the most versatile. I have almost all whittail lineup too. But it's taken me 2 years to get all of it! 😂😂

Yea, I like having the majority of the whitetail line for that reason. As long as you have the stratus on top and bottom you can layer whatever keeps you warmest for the money; it doesn’t have to be Sitka. The wind stopper will trap in the heat. I’m a big fan of the Fanantic, especially the bibs. The coat is a little bulky but is MONEY for warmth and comfort in the tree. If I get too warm in it I will shed it and throw on my Celsius midi.

Man, everyone is different. The only piece I had and got rid of is the equinox midi. I don’t see a need for it with my Fanantic bibs. I layer a heavyweight under my traverse pants and that’s what I wear in the woods before putting on my Fanantic bib. The stratus bottoms are good as well for mildly cool temps but Fanantic is king for me!

thinking about either mountain pant or stratus pants trying to find a one size fits all approach instead of having multiple pants

Man, honestly there isn't a one size fits all approach (unfortunately). I've tried and it doesn't work very well. The stratus will burn you up when walking any distance in them. This is especially true when you are exerting yourself any little bit. The mountain pant would be better served as a do it all pant of the two. Honestly, with a core lightweight, then core heavyweight, then a pant of choice as an outer layer will serve you well down to the high 40's.

the stratus pant is too hot to walk around in and not super durable, but i promise the mountain pant is extremely loud, check out the intercept pant, quiet durable and breathable. With a good under layer, you can go down to low 40s, only problem is it’s only in subalpine so if ur an el 2 guy thats a problem

The folks saying it’s a gimmick are clueless. It’s definitely quality and performs due to the textile tech put into it. I think the hate is based on prices that arguably got set to match the brand popularity and allure versus just the quality. I think there is still tons of people who are willing to pay for quality. Sitka’s prices seem to be about 10-20% higher than that level however. Kinda like the Gucci with Louis Vuitton of hunting wear. With prices on everything these days however, it doesn’t look quite that bad anymore. All that aside, great video!

CRAZY to compare Sitka to LV or Gucci, two companies that are also gimmicks. Idc who you are or how much money you make, $1,000 for a jacket and pants is just not worth it. They mark their stuff up to high heaven and fools like you line up to purchase it. Do you realize their “pro” members get 40% off MSRP? What does that say about the markup on these items? Sitka, whether quality or not, is for bougie hunters- indisputable by your own comparison to LV/Gucci.

@@mattjtx93 I’m a “PRO” due to being an ARMY veteran. If not for that, I probably wouldn’t buy it. With that said, it is worth it if you can swing it. I know it’s a hype and also a fad, but trust me. I’m super comfortable now without having to layer for days lol. The Fanantic with minimal layering is where it at 🤘🏻

@@EasternWild I have heard same. I have Intercept pant and love the fit of them but little too warm for South Alabama early season. Is Big guys need some tapered legs to reduce bulk. Even the stratus have a taper thats pretty great.
