Did Jeremy Clarkson anchor the above show before JV? He definitely had a very similar show on BBC 2 with a very similar (if not identical) set . Perhaps the BBC just recycled the JC set after that ended for whatever the above was.

My love for The Jam has never died. Still means so much to me and I know many others too. Best influence on my life there has ever been.

Perhaps one of the best songs ever written..performed around the world...Sail on Brian..sail on Sailor, he created this piece for all to enjoy, years from the writing of it....Timeless, and truly emotionally charged...

In my house we love the Jam. All the records! Weller less although he is gifted. We love the Jam: Foxton, Buckler and Weller.

Mark Ronson’s stock just jumped through the roof with this one! Hey Mark, you should have lived when this song (album) came out. Despite the controversy surrounding the mixed reviews and troubled (album) personnel and musicians, the (recorded in) Holland tapes won out…leaving this song to soar above the rest on the record. Complete with nary a Wilson or a Love at the lead mic. Definitely a stellar and seaworthy choice 💕. You have excellent taste and kudos to your Dad for bringing it to your attention. Your buddy’s vocals do it justice as well 😉

I was in my final year of high school in SA when this song was released. Still sounds as stylish today as it was back then. This live version proves what a tight band they were.

I just Love Jay, mainly because I never got to see him in his prime and at his best because I live in the USA and just didn't see it. Just the best music. Great performer. At least I got to see the aftermath.

I was super lucky. I barely caught him live in NY at the Nokia Theater during Space Cowboy album. I also thought he just stopped after Virtual Insanity but was blissfully happy when I stumbled across Love Foolosophy. I was like “OMG he was still making videos!!?!” And would search the internet for more (YT was a baby then)

"Sail on Sailor" was also written & produced by the gospel group Mustard Seed Faith in the 70's. I like their eternal lyrics much more than this Beach Boys song.

Could 'Shoestring' have been the first private eye (or even man !) on telly not able to fight ? I was about ten years old at the time and didn't like this aspect of his character, as well as previously being a computer programmer who had a nervous breakdown !

Omg where did this come from.. God bless you for putting this out. You made me feel 14 again and all those great jam gigs, i got in to the sound check at the warm up gig in southend in 82. It was just like this, 2 gigs for price of one and met them and 2 days later it was Brighton. Greatest band in the world
@billyhunt5 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoy Paul. Had to massively boost the sound as it was barely audible, hence some sound distortion. Perhaps more may be released officially one day in top quality.
