Thanks. I always wanted to learn making knots with ropes. Can you make a long video with all the knots in one video?

What the frap are you doing?? You need to tighten up the frappings you did for the square and sheer lashes

constrictor knot
@duggydugg39375 жыл бұрын
I like this method of tyng the constrictor ..a bit easier if the hand on the standing part is not free to help tuck the working part over the standing part and under the X formed by the turns just tucking the working end under the 1st turn is a one hander

Excellent knot video. It's amazing that some people don't like this video.

These are not binding knots. A binding knot is to bind objects together such as a bunch of sticks or a sack.

I really enjoy plans from woodprix.
@whizzdome6 жыл бұрын
Sorry, what do you mean? I have nothing to do with woodprix -- I made this video myself and sold it for a while as a DVD, then I decided I wasn't making enough money from it, so I put it all on KZbin for free. Are you saying that woodprix are selling my video?

The getaway knot could be useful in sea animal stranding rescue.. Tie it to the tail or the body.. Pull the release when the animal is back in the water
@djmj127145 жыл бұрын
This version of the hitch can capsize if enough strain is put on the standing part. At @8:19, take a wrap of the working part around the standing part, from the front around the backside. Then pull a bight of working end through the first bight. Here's a photo showing a comparison of the 2 methods of tying this hitch. The more secure version is on the left... drive.google.com/open?id=1mcS7lq3aHB3l8hlB6-51F2HDOyGPUpjb

Lewis, you demonstrate what's called a left-handed Sheet Bend, where the short-ends end up on opposing sides. While fine for low duty applications, this is a significantly less secure version of the Sheet Bend (by about 34%, according to the Ashley Book of Knots). Better to start your wrap in the opposite direction so the short-end end up on the same side.

When you were tying the prusik knot, what knot did you use to tie the looped rope together?
@whizzdome10 жыл бұрын
Can't remember (it was several years ago!) but it looks like a Fisherman's Knot (a type of Bend, shown in video 4) -- but any suitable Bend will do.

Constrictor Knot is a knot the USCG will never ask you I worked with Bosin who could make a bowline 8 different ways. This instructor is good.
