The correct way to paint bare plaster is to use a primer first.👍

Sorry mate, but are you a professional decorator? Please tell me you didn’t just cut round that socket and not unscrew it from the wall.

Great work How long do those 2 fillers realistically take to dry and can you paint straight over them. Or do they need primer first?
@JBTV5 күн бұрын
The filler will be dry in a few hours in warm temperatures. I would either mist coat the filler, or use a zinsser primer.

Hope you have better luck than I , After a few years all the timber skirting and stained windows turned yellow. I think you will have better luck with an oil based or Zinssesr B I N .

Strangely, Zinsser do recommend Bullseye 1-2-3 for ceramic tiles and they don't recommend sanding, which is doubly strange. However based on trial and error, if you are going to use Bullseye 1-2-3 for this application, I would recommend first using a fine grade sandpaper to sand the tiles until the ceramic gloss on the tiles becomes dull. Its a pain but it will stick much better. I've found that a better product for varnished and shiny surfaces is Zinsser B-I-N, but again you will need to sand the surface first to allow keying.

Useful video, I’ve been in two minds about getting one. I’m just. DIYer, but made a couple of desks with hairpin legs. I’ve usually bought kiln dried hardwood and just glued up using some 4-way clamps that I made, that’s done the trick for me (I guess because I’ve been buying hardwood that’s been dried and cut to size accurately), not entirely sure where these are necessary though? I’d use a router with a dado jig for making shelving in a book case, like the more expensive domino, not 100% sure what they give a DIYer… seems like a tool if you are jointing a lot of things and don’t have the time to use cauls, for someone on job site?
