As long as the level doesn't rely on anything that is AFOM specific (not including a few things that I have bothered to fix or update) - if it is made in AFOM v1 or AFOM v2 then it should still be playable. If it does make use of AFOM specific objects - you can still try to play it, no guarantee it will be beatable. As for characters, there aren't any that are planned to be added right now.

Honestly, Pizza Tower would be absolutely dreadful to play if Peppino kept his moveset from the earliest prototypes.
