Why do you still have a ball hitch attached? Those things hurt if your not going to be towing anything why have it on. Can’t imagine getting up in the morning or in the middle of the night and forget that stupid ball hitch is on and bang your chin splin or knee cap. I’d take it off when not in use. Just a fyi

Yeah I've banged my shin on it more than I'd like to admit, I'm still using my boat though and I get lazy not wanting to reattach it every time.

Could you use butyl tape instead to seal the windows?

Yes, I actually used that in addition to silicone. The butyl tape was hard to cover the corners/seams so I used some silicone also.

I've heard that these give a few extra inches of room in the bed compared to where the tailgate would normally be, would you say that's accurate?

@7:22 in the middle of the screen there is a green wire running from top to bottom that goes underneath that connection with two orange wires. In the video you can see it appears to run into the CDI power pack on the right side. Can you tell me specifically which nut it's attached to? I think it may be the next to the last one down of those 6 connections running vertically. I have a very similar engine and am replacing those power packs. I can't remember where to hook that green back. Thanks brother.

The only specific part you need is the block off plate, it keeps the same engine displacement from what I was told.

If you're going to remove your VRO, at least take the time to replace all your fuel lines. Get rid of your old T connections and you're less likely to leak

I have the same cap, but from an older year. I love it. The window frames will leak eventually, but I seal them with a high-quality caulk.

My side windows leak bad and the back rack broke off going down the road 2 days ago.Its only 6 months old.

Yes my side windows leaked also, I had to remove the metal retaining frame from the inside and take the windows out to reseal them. It was definitely worth it and not hard at all.

Thanks for the look at your cap. Do you have any issues with the back door seal? I recently priced out a new one and the salesman said they have issues sealing in the tailgate area, letting dust in.

Yes! The back door seal did not do very well with every day dust and rain. I used an extra layer of adhesive foam that did the trick.

update: it’s done and what a beast it is. Ended up going with a 3” magnaflow down pipe to a 5” magnaflow strait pipe axle dumped. Also got rod of the egr. Definitely freed up the engine and boy does she scream. Love it

Sounds like it can be various things. The most common reasons why it may sound like this are: 1- Any engine that is low or starving of oil can sound like this (car seating for to long) 2- Carbon deposit do to high miles 3 - bend valves do to Knock (preignition) Try checking your Oil and put some seafoam treatment. Being that your car has 120k miles some seafoam treatment will be good anyways. Unless you wanna consider walnut blasting it. Also driving the hell of of your car also helps with carbon build up 😂

A good chance/cause is the fuel vent valve, it's not bad yet but just creating alot of noise. But also could just be the injectors unless it doesn't quiet down when it warms up.

the car is usually pretty quiet, well as quiet as an n54 can be I guess lol. These injectors are loud in general. This was a very COLD start.

The noise has gone away for me, this was the first start up after a week of sitting in cold temperatures. I think it was just excessive injector noise.
