Last 3 demo songs are original idea of Tuomas (Nightwish founder and songwriter), what he thought band should sound like. Originally he wanted to play folk music, these songs were never performed live. Tarja's double vocals, which annoy me a bit on this album, will be used very rarely in future. The second album Oceanborn is, in my opinion, one of best albums ine band's discography, it is very different from first album. Guys will do a tremendous work on their mistakes and Nightwish will shine. But I wouldn't recommend to upload albums in full on KZbin, there is a very high probability that there will be copyright problems.

Im Sommer 1996 sitzt Tuomas während seines Wehrdienstes mit Freunden am Lagerfeuer und beschließt dieses Gefühl zu Musik zu machen. Im Herbst hat er die ersten Lieder zusammen und bittet den noch heutigen Gitarristen Empuu um Hilfe bei der Aufnahme der Demos. Empuu hat er an der Schule kennen gelernt, beide waren im Jazz Projekt der Schule. Der leise Sänger ist Tuomas selbst. Beide kommen überein, dass es so nicht funktioniert und bitten ein weiteres Ex Mitglied um Hilfe: Tarja. Die hat sich inzwischen auf Operngesang versteift. Sie hatte erst versucht Soul zu singen, aber hat den Sound nicht hinbekommen. Klassik lag ihr mehr und sie will den Sound nicht zerstören. Darum weigert sie sich etwas anderes zu singen und Tuomas muss seine Lieder umschreiben. Der Nightwish-Sound entsteht und sie nehmen zu dritt die ersten Lieder auf. Das Lied Nightwish war zuerst da. Tuomas hat die Band nach dem Lied benannt, weil ihm das Wort gefiel. Der Sänger mit der kraftvollen Stimme ist ein Mitglied der Technik Crew. Der wollte aber lieber Techniker bleiben und seine Einsätze sind die Ausnahme. Die Flöte gibt es bis heute, der orientalische Sound wurde bald durch irischen Folk ersetzt. Die Unterkapitel von Liedern gibt es auch heute noch bei langen Liedern. Das längste Lied ist 30 Minuten lang und so unterteilt. Finnisch wird fast immer ausgesprochen wie im Deutschen, ohne Buchstaben Kombinationen. Allerdings mit einem Akzent, als würde ein Wikinger fluchend die Treppe hinunter fallen ;-) . Fans who started with Nightwish after Tarja propably don t like her vocals.We the fans of the first era loved this band because of her vocals.And it is strange to our ears the pop boices of the other two singers singing Tarja s songs.Nightwish is like three completely different bands in every era of the three eras.Three singers three fan bases.Perssonaly i consider this album as a masterpiece❤

I'm not sure if you want to stick with studio recordings or if you want to use live performances for the full album reactions. They do quite a lot of that kind of thing. Especially in Survive where there are head tips and guitar swings. There are wee rituals all over the place.

It's not really B-M, until they are allowed to write their own music, but here are a few good once before "Alone".

I have never heard of Lacuna Coil before. It was great to listen to some of their earliest work! I like their sound: ethereal/melancholy. But it did leave me wanting more. Maybe more power/ variation with the vocals? I think I liked their more experimental work. But that is just my first impression of them. I can't wait to hear more and see where they go.

This is an absolute banger. Incredible song with a fantastic message. Yeah, live, it is rammed full of fantastic moments. My absolute clear favourite Warning song.

The Warning has written so many songs at a young age that perhaps they were recorded with a less mature tone, but in their live versions they bring out all the power that the song should have had. That's my take on it, because they have excellent songs.

This song is a veiled reference to the mass suicide in Guyana in 1978 when "drinking the Kool-Aid" entered the language to mean believing a false ideology.

Warning fan here. No need to justify yourself, everybody has their own preferences. I like Kool Aid Kids, but it's one of the tracks on the Error Album that I've listened to the least. Not because it's a bad song, but when I'm looking for an upbeat song, there are many others that I prefer, and it's the same when I'm looking for slower, more emotionnal songs.

Another excellent reaction. Love everything they do, but Live is where they shine. Every song is done to perfection, musically and vocally, lots of hard work and you get perfection. Dany, without any doubt is the top Frontperson in all of Rock, nobody like her. Off stage, her effervescent personality can light up a room, on stage she is fierce and a force to be reckoned with and can set you back with one look. All 3 Sisters are full of joy and life on stage adding just another dimension to their prowess as one of the very best rock bands in many decades.

IMHO one of the best examples of changing things within the song structure is Disciple.... They switch it up each time they go from verse to chorus...it keeps your ears listening!!
