I recommend you stay away form this device until they fix their forced sleep "feature" where your bar will simply go silent and stop working after a few minutes of no sound input... then you have to wati fro up to 15 seconds each time to get it to wake up again... NO MATTER what setting you choose this pos will simply ignore your choice NOT to go to sleep...

Why would you say that fans at 100% speed are noticeable ? There is no card in the world that has silent fans above 40-50% fan speed. A common fan curve goes from 10%-20%-45% at the most for a nice quiet card, assuming you have enough intake into the case. I wish you gave us some noise samples... otherwise thank you for the review, its a nice card

Hey, I think there is a bit of a confusion. I've provided calculated decibel rating and shown stock to 100%. I would not recommend running it at 100%, but at stock it is really quiet even at full blast.

I dont see any arguments for using decimals in you FPS graph. It becomes quite cluttered and just makes it messier to compare at a glance. If you just round the numbers, the maximum error for each datapoint is 0.5 FPS, which is imperceivable (for a human). The point is to convey a rough idea of performance to the viewers either way so these sub 1 FPS rounding errors are really meaningless imo. Is there any particular reason you chose to include decimals in this case that might not be obvious at first? Really nice video otherwise!

good point. It was mostly to keep numbers as they come out of the tool to minimise accidental typos. Copy and paste is safer than messing around. Will adjust moving forward :)

@@A2KMedia Yeah that makes sense. Maybe there is a setting on the tool to output numbers rounded to nearest integer? Another option is to cook up some simple python script (or let chatgpt do it) to parse and round the data if the output is in a structured format. Either way, not really a big deal. Just wanted to point it out as I saw this is a growing channel. Good luck!

great question. I didn't hear anything noticeable while on the bench and testing but I also did not use 1080p settings. Whole time was in 4k. I did see it spike to 400-500 fps in different modes without any noise

16GB is absolutely criminal. A lot of first time builders probably don't realize that they're going to hit VRAM limits well before their card should be considered, 'dated.'

not a single game that is out right now uses 16. the highest vram utilisation in a game as of now is the last of us pt1, where the vram util. is at ~12.7gb. there is no chance this is "dated" for a long while 😭and even if a couple games hit that 16gb threshold, the average game wont even be close. to put it simply, 16gb is perfectly fine for gaming in the future.

@@A2B2YT From what I've heard, Alan Wake 2 can use more than 16 if you want native 4K and path tracing. Can't confirm since I haven't tried it myself, but several people have reported high VRAM usage for this game.

@@Puddles4ETN I can confirm Cyberpunk runs 4k all settings maxxed at a 12gb VRAM usage. Not tested alan wake yet.. but people have forgotten, the VRAM is 30-40% faster than the previous gen.. so you don't need as much.

if you're very diligent with trackers you can probably snag yourself a 5080 with some fast fingers and some luck, if you're trying for a 5090 though just give up its not happening lol, other commenter is right where its legit 10x worse.

Finally some thermals and noise stats for this card! I bought the 5080 Master Ice yesterday, mainly because I've already got a white Aorus build going and this is one of the few GPUs available in that color scheme, but I've been unable to find any info on how the card actually performs until now. Glad to hear the extra fan doesn't add an excessive amount of noise, like the one on the Astral does according to reports. That said, I'm probably not going to end up using it, since it seems like kind of a waste to lose the clean esthetics of the card just to drop the temps by a couple degrees. Sadly, I wasn't able to nab any of the few GPUs in stock, but I have 8th place in the restock queue, so I should get one sometime in the near future. Time to play the waiting game.

@ I'm in EU as well, and the only reason I was put in queue was because I was able to make a purchase the moment preorders opened up, before the store's system updated their stock to "sold out". As soon as they did, that was no longer possible. I don't think there's any way to get in queue here now, so you'd have to go with the "notify me" option on the website and wait for a message whenever there's a restock.

@ yeah, I had it in my basket, went to pay, had it preset, so it was just like 2 clicks, but then as I clicked pay, it was loading as if it will confirm payment, but instead it gave me error msg saying it’s no longer available.

Two days ago, I almost bought this mobo, 32gb Corsair 6000 cl28 mem, and a scalped 9800X3D for $590 until I looked up the B850 chipset and saw it didn't have gen 5 GPU support. Yesterday, I learned that G5 GPU support is up to the manufacturer and this board has it. Just an hour ago I saw the 9800X3D back in stock and got it for retail! This will be replacing my 5800X3D, STRIX B550-F Gaming Wifi II, and 32gb Corsair 3600 cl16.

There are rubber gromets in the box you can install to cover the holes where the ATX and other cables travel which you haven't installed. This will fix the issue when in the traditional desktop layout over the tower position.

Im getting this monitor delivered tomorrow. Im very excited. It was a total impulse buy but it was between this or one of the high end oled ones. Decided to go with this because i work from home 40 hours a week and risk of burn in for me on an oled was too high. Im sure i wont be disappointed. I do wish though this was a glossy finish. Idk why its so hard for any miniled screen to be glossy but oh well

I have those Sony's, I love them. And they are still going strong for the most part. Every now and again I am having feed back loop problems with the noise canceling. But that is after many years of usage.

So, in cable management, you made no mention of the front panel connector (power button, specifically). My King 95 Pro, delivered 01/15/2025, came with a non-standard plug marked fr. panel. No adapter pigtail as referenced in the manual (if it can be called a "manual". Consequently , no means to connect the power button to the motherboard. Aside from this goof, a pretty nice PC case, albeit unusable. Hard to believe.

yeah, without a problem, you dont see much benefit from x870 boards unless you need all nvme slots to be pcie 5, usb 4 ports etc... in my scenario x870 is waste of money... and if you ask that question in yours aswell
