I had the 85" size here in the U.S. and returned it only because they announced a 98" size which I am now waiting for it's release 😉. Overall a very good TV for the price. From what I have heard so far, the 2024 models will have up to twice the performance so can't wait to see the newer UX models will bring.

Great review,love this tv for the sound system and the good thing with hisense pricing comes down faster than other brands yet quality it kept.

I don't use onboard sound, I have real speakers. So my vote would be that decent sound is a nice value add for those that might use it, but not if it increases the cost much. I'd take the same screen with very basic speakers, or no sound at all, for $3-500 less, every single time.

Fair! and what would be your choice for sound system? Soundbar or something else?

@@A2KMedia I'm into audio and music first, so I have a higher end 2 channel system built up around the TV, in my living room. I'm running a pair of Tekton Moabs with the Be center tweeter option and and high end crossovers.They sit on Townshend Podiums for isolation. My electronics are a Wiim Pro satreamer, Audio-gd R7-HE DAC, Parasound JC2 preamp and JC5 power amp. Cables are all cost effective solutions from WBC. No subs or surround sound, unfortunately. I don't really have the space for any of that.

@@A2KMedia Thank you. I never meant to go this far down the rabbit hole, but it was a slippery slope. I don't have too many regrets though. I would easily pit my system against anything I've heard, even systems going into six digits. I know Tekton has taken some flack lately for the owner's behavior toward reviewers. There's no defending his position in those cases.. He's a high strung guy with a lot of personal baggage and he shouldn't be directly involved with PR. But at the end of the day, he's a brilliant designer and his dedication to the hobby has brought the true high end into reach of normal people like me.

In the UK this TV is £150 more than the same sized U8K, is it worth paying that little bit extra?

Yes, the UX 85" is a 2023 model currently selling at Best Buy for $2764.99. The U8N 85" sells for $1999.99 at Best Buy. I bought the UX after BB lowered the price yesterday.
