Would you say the contact point of most pros is about 45 degrees in front?? It seems like if you’re making contact with the arm all the way straight in front of your body you’ve ran out of stroke. 🤷🏼‍♂️
@broddfelt
@broddfelt 3 күн бұрын
Yes I would say most pros make contact on their forehand at a 45 degree angle. That’s how they get their power. After the contact they just wrap around with a couple of cm contact zone and pronate their arm. Their arm is either bent like Djokovic or more straight like Nadal and Federer.

Love that you get right to the point and you take the time to walk us through the drills! I’m going to go to the courts now and try this out 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Update: The drills really helped with the proper feel in my arm. I was doing so much wrist movement and didn't pronate properly. So exciteddddd

Is this count a first serve or a second serve?
@broddfelt
@broddfelt 8 күн бұрын
@@louisliu6680 For beginner and intermediate normal serve. For higher level more 1st serve. You will have pronation on slice and topspin as well, but looks a little bit different.

Ball should be in fingers tips otherwise it will spin traveling up at the toss.
@twinwankel
@twinwankel 9 күн бұрын
I think what you mean is keeping the ball in front of the palm line or on the third pad of your fingers. At least, that's what your video shows and how I do it. If you keep the ball at the palm line, the ball will tend to rotate more as it gets more interference from your fingers.

With continental, pronation becomes a must, try other grips and find the one for you, pronation should not be a must

Recently gone get head boom pro, does it a good racket ?
@broddfelt
@broddfelt 9 күн бұрын
@@adrianli5585 I like the racket. Used to play with prestige, but Boom has more power and easier to put spin on the ball. I like 2024 model best. Has a little bit more soft feeling. Radical and Speed are also good, but I got too much power with them. And Extreme was a little bit too stiff for me.

That pen holding strategy is an excellent idea. Use one of those small pencils instead if pen feels too awkward. I’ve done this with my kids and it works great.

great exercises, but I still do not know why I should pronate, I mean the what are the physical forces that would make the ball faster .. What about the second serve, does pronation help making it more reliable ?
@broddfelt
@broddfelt 10 күн бұрын
Incorporating pronation helps develop a fluid, effective serve that maximizes power, spin, and precision while minimizing the chance of injury. So yes it will also help the second serve, but the racket path will be a little bit different. The racket speed will be faster into contact since leading with racket edge and after contact you slow down the speed and you will hit the ball more upwards.

Some of the best servers in the world like Sampras, Federer have J toss.
@broddfelt
@broddfelt 11 күн бұрын
@@koyc8194 I know, but I don’t think it’s the best way to learn out. Since the ball toss will go in a bow. It will make it a little more difficult to learn. It all depends on the players stance, eye dominance, and talent.
