Does the modification work correctly over time or is it best to buy the S&S Engineering kit?

S&S Engineering LLC on Facebook sells a kit for $175 to mount these calipers. You don’t have to modify the spindles, if anyone was interested.

Is there anybody out there making these kit cheaper? I am in the process of fitting ATS Brembos in my 01 Cobra and I am having a really hard time making these spacers/inserts, the price is astronomical and I don't have the $$ right now to spend $175 on just 4 inserts and 4 bolts. Thank you!!
@SVTKeats
@SVTKeats 3 жыл бұрын
Honestly you can go the route and have the calipers machined and drill out your spindles. I agree the price of the kit is a little steep.

Why even use that urethane spoiler!? Kaenan makes one that fits PERFECT
@SVTKeats
@SVTKeats 3 жыл бұрын
I chose it for 2 reasons, first was its original. I always try to keep parts on my car original, it’s just my choice when it comes to what I put on the car. Second because although my fitment was trash I was able to work with it and make the fitment better to the point that it was perfect. It you buy fibreglass then you don’t have that option. I have a customers car that has a fibreglass version and it’s cracking along the seem and fitment is also trash. Since then though I have removed it and gone back to stock, just every damn SN95 has the S281.

SVT Keats the kaenan piece is far better than the piece of urethane that has a Saleen stamp on it. There’s nothing worth being original about a spoiler made out urethane sorry. If the fiberglass piece you speak of is falling apart and I’ll fitting it’s probably not the one from kaenan. Btw just throwing some advice out there, love the car and the project. I have a black 97 cobra that is my first mustang. Bought it in 2007 and been to hell and back with it. You wanna be different.. get yourself a T-1 spoiler! Looking forward to the progress!

Awesome video, I'll make you a deal, I'll subscribe to you if you buy a new microphone, or at least some sort of filter to help the echoing. There are some good mics out there that are affordable, but everything else about the video is pretty professional looking. Another thing that would help is making some sound absorption panels, which you can make or buy, but making them is wayyyy cheaper, you can use old used towels and they will help a ton with the reverb and make your videos that much better. I really hope your audience grows, and heck I'm subscribing anyways haha Merry Christmas

Good video. Something VERY frustrating about these lights, is they cannot be hard-wired like a traditional fluorescent. Koda photoshopped out the cord on all of their surface mount pics which is extremely deceptive. They also deleted my review on their website letting folks know to be aware of this issue.

Where did you find your ATS brakes at?
@chanraxter2015

I have did this sn95 to Cadillac ATS Brembo caliper upgrade several times. However, I would not recommend anyone hand drilling and hogging out your caliper mounting holes with a hand grinder! With all due respect, this is a hack brother! I put the spindle in a mill and put the holes in precisely and in the correct location. I have built a fixture and can now do it in just a few minutes. Unless you have this capability or you are willing to take your spindles to a competent machine shop and pay someone to do it correctly, you really should not be doing this swap. Brakes are kinda important you know!
@SVTKeats
@SVTKeats 4 жыл бұрын
LOL to each their own. Call it a hack all you want. I’ve done it along with many other Cobra owners without issue. In the end I wouldn’t do either way TBH, weather you do it your way or the “HACK” way, I would recommend a proper braking kit or use the S&S Engineering kit.

@@SVTKeats Well brother, I've been accused of hacking stuff up myself a time or two! However, when I do it's called not having what I need to do the job right, but being ingenious enough to make it work anyway! So I'll give that one to you too, brother! I've looked at the S&S kit, but to me the re-machined spindle holes on the correct location in a mill is better, cheaper, and cleaner and keeps the calipers stock and replaceable. Used spindle are cheap too in case anyone ever wanted to go back to stock, but I don't honestly think anyone would ever want to do that as I can't see these cars becoming collector items anytime soon.

Where is the motion sensor or sensors located on these lights? Does the motion sensor work better if you approach from the long side or the short side or is it equally good 360 degrees? Good video, much better than the other Koda videos online which look more like marketing fluff.
