Beautiful! How far again from Parking lot to the First waterfall (a Vernal fall my guess)? From this video it looked as a flat trail. My wife and i planning to go there this Saturday. She can walk only flat trails due some feet problems.

Inspiring. I didn't know you could take doggies on any part of the trail. I live in MI and have a 6 yr old golden myself. josé. what dog harness pack are you guys using? I need to get him out more and longer. he needs to start pulling his own weight. :)

My father & grandparents & big clann of 2 bucknoard, 1 carriage & a bunchnof outriders 1887-1918.. They would go from San Francisco on the old road by wagon.. 2 days to get to Gazos Creek. To camp & hunt there . i think it is the old Colma road .. as in Colma Ca .. Coloma is in The Motherload- foothills. EL dorado county California.

I like mountain biking this trail (1x or 2x per year), it is a beautiful, kind of desolate place. I wouldn't want to disturb any hikers, but I rarely encounter any mid-week.

Water temperature should be nice year round. February was great for us last year, I wouldn’t worry.

Nice video. Great footage of some hiking trails I haven’t checked out yet. If you go again, Kapalua bay has the best snorkeling in Maui in my opinion.

We just got back from California today. We were in that meadow two days ago when we came upon a bear cub on the trail. We stopped immediately. Mom was off the trail in the meadows but keeping an eye on her cub. We waited until the cub went back to its mom and then we proceeded past.

Got my Desolation permits cancelled for next month due to the fires and was somehow miraculously able to get JMT permits two weeks out for this exact trail. This will be my first backpacking trip ever, after researching for two years. I’m honestly scared I didn’t research the elevation gain much before applying for the permit (applied on a whim). Any tips or suggestions?

Congrats on the permits. There’s definitely some good elevation gain. From my experience I’d say make sure to pack what you need & don’t try to overdo mileage each day. Are you starting in Yosemite Valley & hiking to Tuolumne Meadows?

@@TrailPerspective Yes, the current plan is to hike 4 miles and spend the first night at Little Yosemite, second day hike 8 miles and spend the night at sunrise and finish off the third day with another 8 miles arriving at TM and spending the night at backpackers camp before heading out the next am. It's my dad and I for the first time so I'm a little nervous.

@@NubiaPina For us the hike was a challenge but enjoyable. Probably depends on the hiker though. 1st section to LYV was steeper than I anticipated but the low Mileage made it more manageable. Would probably go the opposite direction next time🙂. Since it’s a popular hike, you have a lot of friendly hikers on the trail which is nice. I usually take a Garmin InReach device with me on trips for peace of mind/ worst case scenarios. It’s an amazing trail though. Hope this helps.

Between 9 & 11k feet depending on the trail. Hard to acclimate in a weekend so we drank lots of water & took plenty of breaks
