Hi ive just been watching your sourdough bread recipe, then went to the playlist and seen this video. Do you know if you slightly roast the nuts it releases the natural oils and helps with the blending also makes the peanut butter smoother. I make my own almond butter roasting the nuts 1st for about 8 mins not on high heat, you could even use a frying pan to toast them rather that the oven.

Interesting! Your vid shows just how forgiving sourdough dough is, as your technique goes against most every vid (and I have watched MANY). You might at least try scoring the top of the loaves before you put them in the oven - it will help control the cracking you are getting 🙃

Do you allow your dough to rise in bread pan before baking? You didn’t say if you allowed it to rise again, just that you threw it in the oven, just wondering if you can bake without it rising again 🤔🤷♀️👍🏼❤

Great question! I wash mine when I feel they need to be washed. I use a really natural detergent, so I'm not worried about the contact with my skillets/food. I usually get quite a few uses out of them before washing. I would just choose to do what you feel is best! 😊

How much do you subtract of the water
@traceyparker14074 ай бұрын
Put the 2 eggs into a measuring cup & then add the water up to the amount that you used in your recipe. This should get you close to your previous hydration. Once ingredients are mixed & hydrated....add tiny amounts of water till you get the hydration you like. My recipe is for 2 loaves. 600g bread flour, 200g einkorn flour, 175g starter, 2 eggs, 22g salt, 100g honey, 100g heavy whipping cream, 3/4 stick softened unsalted butter, 150g water. 10minutes in the stand mixer, rest 10 minutes, 10 minutes in stand mixer. The dough should be coming away from the sides of the bowl, is silky soft & not sticky. Then into oven with the light on for 3 hours, then into fridge for cold proof ×8-12 hours. Shape dough next day into loaf pans & back into oven with the light on until they are puffy & have risen above the edge of the bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees fahrenheit for 38minutes or an internal temperature greater than 200 degrees. The hydration level can drastically change due to climate, humidity, size of eggs ect. Also, I do the following semi tangzhong tech, which helps the bread last longer & retain more hydration during baking. Into a small saucepan add 20g flour, 50g cream & 50g water; whisk on medium heat until u get a very thick consistency. Don't burn it. Let cool and add this mixture to your dough at the beginning of the process. I am telling y'all, this is the best sandwich bread ever. Give it a try. Let me know how it goes 🤗🤗🤗

Green beans are the favorite vegetable in our family too. I plant the Blue Lake Pole Beans on a tunnel trellis every 3 weeks for 3 rounds. This provides an ongoing prolific harvest which helps with canning. At first I harvest a handful and think "really?" Within a couple of weeks, the beans are hanging everywhere and I am up to my eyeballs snapping and canning. When I get lazy, I will blanch some and throw them in the freezer. They store really well. No strings yay!!! We are in E TN zone 7a. We're stil waiting for winter. I told my husband that I'm ready to move back to Alaska. However, I am still planning the gardens and flower beds.

I'm glad you mentioned this because succession planting is what I'm going to try to work on this year rather than a one and done crop. I hope that I'm up to my eyeballs in SOMETHING other than okra & cucumbers this year 😂 We're on the border of Middle and East TN and it looks like some lows of 5° are in store for us next week! I cannot fathom living in Alaska, but it looks like absolutely stunning landscapes! 😍

I've been known to grab seeds at ACE Hardware, WalMart, Lowe's and Tractor Supply from time to time & there's nothing wrong with that! At the end of the gardening season, I am flooded with seed catalogs, seed sales via email and ads on just about every gardening site or video I watch...and I can't just let those slip by without a little love 😂 if you do not get seed catalogs, I recommend signing up for one or two. You will find such interesting varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers that you wouldn't see at your local store, more than likely! 🌼

About how much starter did you use and where do you store your honey that it's not crystalized? ty-John's wife
@cultivatingthecornerlot5 ай бұрын
Hey there! I used 1 cup of starter. I also put the basic recipe down in the description box for you, if you need it! 😊 As for the honey, I always keep it in a cabinet next to my stove/oven. We go through honey pretty quickly, so it rarely has time to crystallize around here! 😂 I hope this helps.
@johnkelly94515 ай бұрын
@@cultivatingthecornerlot thank you for the recipe, I found it in description box and thank you for tip about honey, we will try this in cupboard near our stove next too as ours always crystallizes the week we bring it home and put it in the pantry hallway. Maybe we need to keep trying different locations for every new honey we bring in. We at least use it for tea and asian sauces even if it's crystalized. p.s. Your sourdough bread looks delicous and your loaves are beautiful! We need to learn to make this and love your starter jars too! ty again!-John's wife

The amount of par in reflected light. Isn't really worth all that work. Just paint your walls flat white. Plus it's easier to keep clean.

That's great feedback, thanks! If my seed starting station was in a garage or basement, I would probably go that route, as well. But, since it's in our kitchen area, this has worked really well for us! It keeps out dust and dog tails that may knock seedlings over, too. 😊

You need to crack the seed open and see if there is a spoon, fork or knife inside. They say it perdicts the winter weather... The spoon means a winter with wet, heavy snow. A fork-shape means light snow and a mild winter, and a knife shape means cutting, icy winds. It is a family tradition to get persimmons after the first frost. We let the seeds dry, usually one day, then crack open and check the seeds to see what symbol is inside.
@cultivatingthecornerlot7 ай бұрын
Yes, I did do that and it was a spoon shape😖 I am not a fan of snowy weather, so I hope that it's not too heavy and not too wet! I had better get the shovel ready just in case! 😉

Lettuce likes cool weather and will do fine in shade. I germinate mine in sun and then plant in partial shade in 7a TN. Peppers need heat and even more patience. They can take weeks to germinate and are very slow growers. Start them now in a small planting cup or solo cup in a window...put mine in a clear plastic mini tote 2 weeks ago. No germination yet; even the tomatoes have germinated. I will be patient and wait though. I know from previous years, those peppers will grow.
