I just did this the other day :) Thor - like Throg but costs one more & once in a while you'll deal 9 damage with him in a round. Justice Jessica Jones - sometimes she thwarts for 4!!!. This is the most boring aspect really but I like the character. Basic SP//Dr gives me a mini game to play as does Spider UK in Protection who can kill 11 drones or do 20 damage to attacking minions. I do like Starhawk to after playing him with Bishop. He once did 21 damage in a turn (except Venom was long dead before then...) retaliate plus lots of resources is funny.

I’d have to agree with bishop’s, ice-man’s, and nightcrawlers choices you picked. I only did the precon and digging deep videos with Magik and jubilee so I don’t have a lot of stick time with each to judge. I remember ranking limbo really low but I just didn’t understand how to play her. I’ve only got one game in with magneto so far but it was a great game. I’d have to say iceman is my favorite thematically but nightcrawler is my favorite x-mee. Jubilee is my worst I think. I don’t have all of the X-men so I can’t answer the last question lol

Love this series!!! Id day for Icemsn my fave is Frozen Solid...its so powerful as It deals with both ATK and SCH..really gives you a breather... Jubilee i agree with you..played her last night and although i squeaked out a win...it was hard work! Maybe ive not mastered her yet, or my deck building for her...but she takes the long road when it comes to winning...

Bishop's Uniform & Limbo seem so fundamental to the characters working they meld into the background for me. I have more fun try8ing to do over 10 damage with the rifle or stacking my deck with Scrying (I expected Stepping Disk to be my favourite but is kind of underwhelms). I like Jubilee's Coat more than her Glasses but IO have not played her much & mostly as a Justice support character 2 handed where she doesn't need to attack. I have not played the others at all so no opinion. Cutlasses look class but I pre-emptively hate Cryokinetic Perception for the reason you like it.

I like most of your picks, but I think my favorite for Magik is Stepping Disc. It helps you set up the top of your deck too (more limited choices though) and you get to ready. For Jubilee my favorite is Firecracker. Favorite hero in the wave is Magneto, but that might just be "Cult of the New". Least Favorite is Iceman. I love the Iceman character but his kit doesn't really do it for me! Favorite in the entire trilogy is either Storm or Wolverine.

She is really fun when she gets to do her thing! The reason I don't do this tailoring to suit my hero (or challenge of the week stuff) is not because I disapprove but because I can't be bothered to remake decks. I want ones I can play over & over vs different things, or even the same things if I find them fun enough. Given I play online mostly now I should maybe try it some more :)

I love this so much. Valk is very limited in many ways, but when she works I thinks she’s one of the most fun heroes in the game. You just really have to put her in the right place for solo, and it doesn’t get any better than this!

You did the setup correctly. Cards with the “Permanent” keyword are set aside at the very beginning of setup (shown in the entry for Permanent in the RRG 1.6). Deathglow doesn’t have that keyword (Wolverine’s Claws do have the permanent keyword)

I want to apologize in advance for some coughing in this video. I was just getting over C19 when I recorded it and was able to cut most of it out but at least one got through while I was speaking. At 32:21 I illegally flipped down to Alter-Ego. I'd done SO MUCH stuff that phase that I forgot that I started it in Alter-Ego, and only noticed that I'd done so after editing (right before uploading). I wish I'd put a card draw counter in this video. It drew 46 cards during the playthrough, 50 if you count Annabelle Riggs as "card draw"!

She's been my favourite for a while. Money & Survivability never goes out of fashion - best card is Energy Absorption :). I do think she was less interesting and strong in the core set. So much of her kit is garbage that she really benefits from having more good aspect/basic cards to play. I think they tried to balance her economy by making Crisis interdiction/Cosmic Flight a bit inefficient but it just means you play aspect cards instead. Photonic Blast does only cost 2 if you get a rebate and you almost always should, it only takes one energy resource not all three after all. All that cycling is really strong as you get to your best cards faster (obvs). I always want to get some damage on her to get the healing going. Even if you are just drawing to resources one card in her deck is likely to be worth about 1.2 resources vs about 1.1 for someone else. I've been playing her with Band Together recently and getting 3 triples plus doubles in a large hand is amazing. I don't even think her thwarting is too bad. She is ready a lot due to never defending plus she can play her super inefficient cards if she has to, and often 2 threat is all you need solo so For Justice is no better.

She was my first favorite. Such a powerhouse! Love your Float like a Butterfly build, can’t wait to try it out. Sidenote: I like to play Cosmic Flight as a safety, and playing the helmet gets more cards out of the deck. (Only when there aren’t better options.)

glad you have moved your opinion up on Captain Marvel. She was always one of my favorite cards, then when Sinister Motives came out it made her even better with a S.H.I.E.L.D deck. I have run a bunch of Justice S.H.I.E.L.D with her. Lately been running leadership S.H.I.E.L.D. S.H.I.E.L.D cards, both gray and blue along with Clarity of Purpose is so fun. Great video.

Very nice review! I’ve actually enjoyed Carol a lot more recently than I ever have but it’s been a funny way to get there. Because like you I never liked Cosmic Flight or Helmet or Crisis Interdiction. That’s half her kit. Despite all the resources and card draw I can’t enjoy a hero that I don’t like half their cards. When speaking about this on Discord recently some one suggested that instead I lean into this and go with Aerial allies. And I actually really enjoyed it! It’s definitely not her best deck as those cards we don’t like we don’t like for a reason. But once I actually started playing her cards and making the best use of them I could I was able to enjoy her as a hero more than I ever had before. Crisis Interdiction is at least playable once you have Aerial, and Cosmic Flight can save you in a pinch. No Helmet still though lol, but most heroes have 1 card I don’t play so I’m fine with that. Using the Aerial allies and events in leadership ended up being a really fun way to play her that’s at least mostly unique to her (and a small handful of others) so that helped me like her finally

Ahah. What is funny is that I provided a challenge to ReyPlayGames / ReyRey which involves Ebony Maw's weakness. He told me he will do it on his channel, but I'm still not sure if he really will. So there it is, I provide to you if you are interested in. Important: I managed to do it several times with a more limited cards pool than yours so it is doable, but you have to think a bit: like Collector I, but much easier lol. Ebony Maw start with Formidable Foe on expert side during Setup. That means he is Steady for the whole game, but not stalwart, and he has one acceleration icon from the get go. The encounter deck is Standard I, Expert II, Ebony Maw's kit, Armies of Titan, Black Order. Which are not very difficult mod sets, but the 4 expert II cards are tough. The Hero: chose wisely, because you can chose who you want and there are few heroes that are especially good for this challenge. Aspect: chose wisely. I don't own Pool Aspect, but if you want to use it, go ahead. Ebony Maw is one of my most played villain currently, I like him a lot, but stun/confuse can really makes him weak as you noticed in the video. And that's why I designed this challenge, which was fun to overcome. Difficult, but manageable with the right plan!

Oh no it looks like you didn't do the Surge from Bandolier of Stakes! But there's a lot going on with Bandolier of Stakes (and a lot going on in any game of MC in general) so it's understandable.

You make some great points!! I think the biggest obstacle is what you like so much about him: people really don’t like building decks for one scenario. I do, but I know from chatting that most people want to be able to use one deck against any scenario without having to change anything

Well, Im obviously a little late to this particular party, but it seems pretty cool. Not sur if I missed you saying it somewhere, but what's the story with mod sets? Is it always the recommended ones, or is it "dealer's choice"?

Just played my first game against Blue in the Camping with Magik/Justice. Got 2/3 through the encounter deck when I got my first infinite soldier and realized I forgot to put Gene Pool out at the beginning. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Great video! I also don’t think Collector I deserves most of the hate it gets. I used to not mind it when i only played stronger heroes but as I’ve played weaker less versatile heroes i personally have been enjoying it less lol. Really appreciate you sharing your honest opinions on it even if most people disagree

Really like those mod set combinations, both in theme and mechanics. I did Expert The Hood invovling those few time ago. It was a blast. I think I'm gonna try your custom villain setup, it seems pretty challenging! Good game! PS: Carol is amazing :p
