@@solomarvelchampion And I've played her far more times than that and never noticed! I really enjoyed this video review by the way. I think this is a good format for reviews. I did have a thought about the complexity category while I was watching. I like it's inclusion, and I was wondering, though, about that category being averaged with the rest because it feels kind of like a separate thing that can be positive or negative, so it can sway the average in ways you might not want it to. I was thinking that another possibility would be to just average the other 4 categories and then allow the complexity score to give it a + or a - (or have no impact at all if complexity scores a 3). Just a thought, though. No matter what I really enjoyed this! Oops! I meant Ease of Play rather than Complexity.

@@MCDeckDiscussions I hear what you're saying, but I included Ease of Play in the average because I wanted it to affect the total score, and is why I called it Ease of Play rather than Complexity. A High ease of play raises the total rating while a low ease of play lowers it. Ig a hero has 1's and 2's in all other categories but it super easy to play their score goes up a little. That said though, I might eliminate the average altogether and just use the categories. I haven't decided yet LOL

@@solomarvelchampion LOL. I understand the dilemma! Still, either way I'll enjoy more of these! By the way, I've begun play testing with my Justice Captain Marvel Deck. I have two more battles against expert Magneto and then I'll start play testing your deck. Up front, I like the way you included 3 copies of Float Like a Butterfly knowing that you can use the extras to power up Energy Channel and make it so that you're guaranteed to get Float Like a Butterfly as soon as your ready to take advantage of it. I think that's a clever way of adapting to Captain Marvel's strengths in her deck. 🙂

@MCDeckDiscussions-n5n I'll do more like this for sure. I feel like I really need to love a hero to do this though, so it won't be for every hero. Very early on I probably would have only included 1 Float, but I've played her a LOT now and extra energy resources are always welcome lol

@@solomarvelchampion I can't ever get Starhawk to take exact damage and return to my hand. which sucks. Maybe because I just need to use him to Thwart instead of block or attack.

@JG4AU don't block the villain with him (you don't know how much damage he'll take because of the boost). Only thwart, attack, or block minions with him because you'll always know exactly how much damage you'll take!

@@solomarvelchampion Great! Thanks! I'll let you know once I start play testing the decks. I haven't played Captain Marvel in about a year, so it'll be nice to see how one of my older decks might be updated (or if I'll just go for new build). Looks like a lot of confusion going on so that you can easily go to Alter-Ego whenever you want while also keeping the villain constantly confused to take advantage of the extra damage due to Float Like a Butterfly (and 3 of them to make sure that's going to happen relatively quickly). Should be fun! I'm guessing it'll be a couple of weeks till I'm ready to do the video.

@@solomarvelchampion Yes, I was thinking that, too. For the others 2-deck comparisons, I've been going against Klaw and then Magneto. Yours should do well against both as long as there isn't unlucky card draw (which is always true against Magneto). The key to the Magneto villain is quicky thwarting those side schemes till he can by regularly confused and stunned (unless he gets those blasted attachments on him that prevent stun and confuse, but Captain Marvel's natural card draw should be able to help find the resources to get rid of those). I did want to mention the villains, though, because I'm happy to play against another villain other than Magneto if you'd like. I personally think Magneto would be a good test for this deck because your deck has a lot of the characteristics I like to see when facing Magneto.

@MCDeckDiscussions-n5n Magneto will be fine! I've never played Magneto with this deck but it has locked Expert Klaw down to only 2 activations. I'll run Magneto tonight to see how it goes!

@@alberttaco3668 that's something I'll keep in mind. I ran Magik through Expert Next Evolution and don't remember the HP tracking making it too different, but that was almost a year ago now!

Thanks for the sub! There's a lot of good "core only" content on KZbin by myself and others. Don't get discouraged by losing a few games to Rhino, Klaw, and Ultron - you'll be crushing them into paste eventually, even with only cards from the core set! The most important thing is to have fun, and don't let others tell you how you should be having fun. That's for which cards you "should" or "shouldn't" be playing, Standard vs. Expert, True Solo vs. Two-Handed, etc. Just play the game in the way that provides the most fun for YOU! It's VERY tempting to "go all in" and get a huge amount of content all at once (which many people - including myself - did), but when I did so I ended up with a lot of sorted and stored cards and felt overwhelmed with so many heroes and villains to try. If you have the patience to ease yourself into the game I think it'll be more rewarding (although since I DID go all in, I can't say that for sure LOL). "Welcome to the party, pal!"

@solomarvelchampion actually that's interesting. They changed setup rules since this game came out. I know that's the way the game used to play.

Should still be correct though. Under RR 1.6 on page 47: Step 2 is set hit points (10 hp), Step 11 is put Setup cards into play (+2 hp because of Basic Thwart Upgrade) and Step 13 is Campaign Setup (7 hp because of "set to recorded hp"). But tbh I wasn't even thinking about that, I was just following campaign setup on page 10 of Rise of Red Skull which is very much pre-RR 1.5, but has the same order: Put setup cards into play, shuffle recorded experimental weapons, set to recorded hp, etc.

Like almost every time man! If I don't have Pixie in hand or discard I could probably make a fortune betting she's the one who will be summoned LOL At least I got a ready out of it :)

@solomarvelchampion hahaha! We'd both be rich! Yeah, getting a ready from Utopia is always satisfying! Great game! Always love watching players who play their fave and obviously know the hero cards inside out!:)

Yeah it's a fun campaign (except I always hate getting to Zola LOL). My Hawkeye run was great fun, and definitely easier (well, less complicated) than Magik! She can be tough to pilot well, but when you do she's really rewarding! I record a Magik review yesterday which comes out next week.

Thanks! It's a lot of fun mixing aspects and feels like building two decks: The Hero Kit and the actual deck. It can get pretty busted though. I built a Psylocke (Aggression ally of course) deck in Justice with Upside the Head and it's just a constant status lock because she gets her counters back every time she flips up. Leadership Hawkeye with any aspect was good too because he has an unlimited supply of arrow counters! I built a Hulk deck with all physical so he's hitting for 5 every time and and you never have to worry about discarding mental or energy. Fun for sure, but pretty easy to break!
