Decsdes ago I had a GTi, loved it, but it drove me to the poor house repairs every time I think about buying another one I get horror stories about reliability in Volkswagen. They are the original and king of the hot hatch, but like all German cars you really are taking a gamble. It’s too bad. The car wasn’t assembled by Toyota.

Ine stupid thing is the vw logo dosent light up, unkess you pay extra so that you can advertise for them. You think some one in advertising would have made this a default.

We have an older Jetta and have been impressed with its mechanical holdup, so there wasn’t any hesitation. Good time to buy…. Got mine for $9k off MSRP. They want the 24’s gone.

Just wish VW would get rid of the Single MPH gauge. I was going to buy an SE trim but ended the test drive as soon as I turned on the car. Im a traditional RPM on the left and MPH gauge on the right, just makes the car look better IDK I am a watch guy and love instruments, why I will never buy a Tesla Model 3. I will just stick with my 2003 GTI. Maybe I will come back for a SEL but really wanted the SE price.

Mine don't work for open or close

Bought a 2025 SEL a few months ago and love it. The interior looks the same as this one but they call the brown Sevilla. Great acceleration as well as gas mileage. Not a fan of the back up camera. Very grainy for a $30,000 car. There should also be A/C vents in the back of the center console for that price. Overall, a very nice car though.

In my family, we have had several VW cars, and all of them were really solid and lasted a long time, like 20 years. Because they last so long, I don't mind that they cost a little more to buy. I have had a 2023 ID4 ProS AWD for almost 2 years and I am very happy with it.
