Great video, can't wait to try it. Does anyone know the kind of oil you normally want to use, and what temp you're going for? I assume vegetable oil on medium-high? I'm terrible at cooking fish, so I have no idea.

Hello, what is the difference between a tostada an Fried corn tortilla you were frying? Is it the same or just different regional name?

Can you fill the tortillas and then wait to fry them the next day or is it important to fry them right away?

Thank you so much! I grew up in Merida and this was the tamales I knew as a kid. For the longest time after moving to the US I didn't know that they were region specific and kept getting so disappointed. Definitely gonna try this! Do you have a recipe for panuchos?

I like the idea of sprinkling the chile powder on top and my kids like that the locals have it as tortas or tacos with Coca-Cola. Thank you for showing the how you cook it and you are blessed with a beautiful family! Saludos desde Sydney.

Omg! I have been wanting these so bad for over like 12 years! My abuelita used to live with me when I was a little girl and would always make these on Saturday morning for me and my brother as soon as we would wake up and then she moved back to Mexico and I would always ask my dad how she made them and he never knew and anytime she comes visit I always forget to ask her! And I have never been able to find it online because I didn’t know what they were called but muchísimas gracias ☺️ ! Can’t wait to make them today!!

Sorry but not even🙄🤦🏻♀️... To start: thats not “chicken salad”, and to end: You omitted vital ingredients for the flavor touch. I guess it’s your Yucatan’s way, but the original is, the Regiomontano’s way😉.

I’m sorry but for the authentic tamales Yucatecos you don’t use oil it’s a sin!!! You need to use pork lard!!!

Making the marinade today so the pork can marinate tonight. It will cook all day tomorrow. Sorry it will be dinner instead of breakfast, ha-ha. Leftovers will be great for lunch and dinner, too. Thanks for your recipes and videos! I bought a box of “El Yucateco” achiote a while ago. I am happy to finally use it. (o ;
