I SEE BEES!😁Does the Stirofoam hold up to the sun, do you paint the exterior? Thanks for sharing your Winterizing setup Doug, Blessed Days.
@dgl1948Ай бұрын
We have painted them. We have several years on a few and they stand up real well. This is our second year with a full yard of these. We have about half the yard as singles to see how they do. They can be a great time savor. It takes 2 of us a full day to wrap our hives and another full day to unwrap. If we had all Styrofoam hives that would be 4 man days of work saved. It also saves us storage space that wraps take up in the summer. So far we have faster brood rearing in the spring. These hives build up fast. Time will tell if they are the way to go.

If you are going to make flavored honey make sure it has started to cream before adding the flavor. If you add a powder to liquid it will float to the top and not remain throughout the honey. It is also important as soon as the flavor has been added to get into a chiller at 54 degrees to finish the creaming process.
