Do you ever shoot? or is this a Cosplay Channel? Not one scratch, not one mark from a kydex holster and not one mark on the bottom of any Mags from dropping on the ground. You Millennials sure like to Gucci out weapons and post conservations with yourself on how great it "LOOKS". When will you be replacing the barrel with a red licorice spiral one? 🤣
@Vinegarbased2 күн бұрын
Look at my most recent video and you can see me using this very one in uspsa, and dropping a magazine on the ground. I don’t have anything to prove to you, and if I put a number on how much I shoot in a year’s time just in 9mm alone you wouldn’t believe me anyway. People on the internet think they know everything. If you were as experienced as you think you are you would know glock’s finish holds up to kydex well. My Gen 4 is worn exactly like you are expecting this one to because it’s been refinished with cerekote during a gunsmithing program I was in as a class project. What year did you become a Glock certified armorer? I’m looking for someone to put in my new red spiral barrel.

Are you using the stock mainspring? Or did you switch to a 17# or 19# spring?
@VinegarbasedАй бұрын
I am pretty sure it is the stock spring, but if it’s not I used a stock 23# Wolff mainspring when I put on the EGW MSH. In all my 1911’s I either run full power springs or when those wear out I always replace them with extra power springs (recoil springs/firing pin springs). I see routinely see people have problems with their 1911’s/2011’s (and other platforms too) when they start trying to reduce the weight of their springs. My stuff always works and theirs is usually finicky, plus it’s wearing their guns faster with reduced power springs. I get why people do it but I do not prefer it because of first hand observation.

Based on what I’ve heard the newer prodigy’s are coming from Springfield without issues. So if you get a newer one you should be fine. How does the gun shoot without the full length guide rod? Any difference in smoothness? I'm not sure if this is a problem but wouldn't the spring coils bind up in the slide and frame and cause more wear and tear vs the full length guide rods? Otherwise looks really bad ass. Beautfiful build.
@Vinegarbased11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Works great no issues. Nothing wrong with the full length guide rod it’s just not my preference. The difference in feeling is too nuanced to articulate because you’ll have to shoot a lot of 9mm though 1911’s before you can pick up on any difference and even then it’s negligible. There are instances where a full length guide rod can damage your barrel lugs. No it won’t damage it by not having one, that’s the original design of the 1911 and they have been in use without a full length guide rod for over 100 years now and it’s never been a problem.

@Vinegarbased11 ай бұрын
I personally did not spend almost the cost of the gun or anywhere close on parts. My particular prodigy’s side to frame fit is tight, and not just because of ‘being over coated’. In the video I encourage people to buy a staccato.

Bro, it’s awesome that you can be your own gunsmith depending on what you picked yours up for, your probably under $2,300 with your set up, your well under $1k with a comparative set up to a Staccato P! I got mine for about $1,200 and spent another $900 with SkipsGunz with Full EGW ignition, Atlas too less guide rod, keyed reverse plug, slide stop and Carry high ride safeties and now it’s about 98.5% as good as my PT HTAC, and way better than a Staccato P! The P is available at my range to rent and that gun sent me down the deep dark rabbit hole of the 1911/2011 DS’s, I got a Bul SAS ii UL 3.25 first, than picked up the Prodigy 4.25, and than got the PT HTAC, I can never go back to a striker fired gun again! The only gun that even can come close to a 1911/2011 DS is a Sig Legion X5, that one blew my mind on how close it can come, but no way is the trigger as satisfying! Great gun and awesome set up!
@Vinegarbased11 ай бұрын
Thanks man! It’s a fun hobby to have and I am fortunate they offer classes like that in my area to teach this stuff. I don’t recall saying this in the video but the day I bought it I went to buy a staccato p and felt them side by side and I left with the prodigy because it was fit tighter and the slide to frame fit was smoother and I knew I could fix it if it had any problems so to me it was a win win. People like the give the prodigy a hard time but even if you have to send it back and get Springfield or a smith to fix it you’re going to have a great 2011/1911 DS when you get it back.
@khuramsayeed842911 ай бұрын
That’s awesome, I had no malfunctions because I watched a few you tube videos, I cycled mine about 1500 times, oiled and cleaned it, the amount of cerakote that came off of it, you would think I had shot it 1500 times with all the gunk that came out of it, LOL! Im convinced most people could have solved that problem of it not going into battery had they done that. I agree with you the Prodigy is tighter than the P, and now with the Atlas slide stop, I can’t believe how much tighter it got after that. I stand corrected I have about $2,600 with the 507c ACSS and Olight. I don’t understand all the hate from Staccato fan boys , granted they are awesome guns but now we have a gun with even better internals than an XC, that’s why I got the PT HTAC instead, it has an aluminum grip and Glock block link-less barrel that thing shoots like .22cal. I can honestly say the Prodigy is 98% as good as the HTAC. Good luck man and let’s see that puppy inaction! New sub

@Vinegarbased I'm not against the idea of buying a prodigy. It's just that I've heard a lot of bad reviews when they first came out and scared to get a lemon. I would rather get something out of the box that's reliable and dependable out of the box than having to replace parts. I get that it's still cheaper, I think I might just wait a little bit longer before I make up my mind. I've seen several people on KZbin who have had no problems with their prodigy as well as SA fixing the issues. That being said, I own an echelon and used to own a hellcat pro, where I've thrown all kinds of cheap ammo at them, and they just kick it out of the ball park. I want to see the prodigy do the same, especially with wanting to use it as a duty gun like the staccato p is used for
