A look at a pair of Alden Horse Bit Loafers from Alden’s Cape Cod Collection after 10 years of ownership.
Unfortunately these shoes are not longer in production so I cannot provide a link where these can be purchased.

I’ve read online that this line was outsourced by Alden to either Highland shoe co. Or Rancourt. The latter went out of business so it is suspected this is why Alden closed this line off. I’m not sure about Oakstreet bookmakers because their moc shoes look like Rancourt with exclusive leather options. Great video!

Your feet do not sweat at all. Amazing. They were made in Maine -- not by Oakstreet. I think Highland Shoe, now defunct, made them. Alden stopped making them when Highland went out of business. Rancourt made for Allen Edmonds.

Oh they do, bad. I’ve never worn them without socks. Just does to show how high quality the leather is.

Great Vid. Just subscribed. Keep 'em coming. Looking forward to see the rest of your collection. I've just sold probably 40 pairs of deadstock Jordan's. Building up my dress shoe collection. Now have 11 shell among other calf, suede, etc.. Edward Green, C&J, Carmina, Alfred Sargent, AE, etc.

How much better would you say Aldens are compared to Allen Edmonds? Been using Allen Edmonds as my go to and was interested in Aldens. I just can never pull the trigger with the price difference.

“Better” is entirely subjective. I am wearing a pair of Allen Edmonds as I type this so I have nothing against them. I prefer some of the design language of Alden more so than Allen Edmond. I would say it’s worth it if they make a model you like that where Allen Edmond doesn’t make anything comparable. For the price of most Alden’s though I would rather buy a pair of Carmina’s.

@@Vinegarbased I have been looking for a pair of double monks and a pair of chukkas for a long time. Not a fan of what Allen Edmonds was offering on the two and was interested in Aldens offerings.

@@Acemans Carmina has great monk strap offerings, I have a single monk from them. The Alden Chukkas are a grail shoe for me, I don’t own a pair yet but will in the future.
