Hope to get great news next week. Thanks for the Shout Out. It's starting to get a little better here but the big election is on everyone's minds. I figured u would use the Avalon sticks due to your disdain for the wind & the weight distribution it offers. Looking to here some great 🎉 news next week!😂

So due to the weather issues u were referring to Andrew I haven't shot a score with my recurve @ 18 meters all year. I have the target faces but u have to focus & walk b4 u can run. The last Saturday back in April when people r just getting over winter in MN we had 85* F! That immediately ushered in a triple hatch of mosquitoes. So what I did was try to find time when we had some wind & the bugs weren't so relentless. Depending on the weather I shot only to build up my stamina @ 7 to 9 meters. I have 2 foam targets that r stacked with a 4" circle on them. I didn't even bother shooting my 2 dozen Pandarus Icepoint arrows @ this point. I used my 1 dozen Pinals fat arrows that shoot good as soon as I put on my NAP flipper rest. Plus it's short range shooting anyway. I shoot 6 into the one circle & the other 6 into the 2nd circle. I shoot until all 6 arrows r in the 4" circle in each target. When I started this process I would have like 4 or 5 shots over 12 to put all 12 arrows into the 2 circles. Things have gotten better shooting wise. I'm able to shoot 12 for 12 many times. However I do have fliers or outliers once in a while. But the weather just won't let up. We have a chance of hitting 80*F today 😮! I still have tornado damage to fix so I won't be shooting today. The one thing I have done is I've found some really good supplements to boost up my shooting platform. I don't have the fatigue I had when it was 85*F late April months ago. My bloodwork is even better so it's allowed me to add lean muscle mass while keeping my B.M.I. under 10. I have small joints & bones so I can't carry around alot of weight. It also takes away from my flexibility. Flexibility is something that helps me out with my daily routine. Being pro-active with your health is very important here. Unless u need surgery to save your life here there's no such thing as health care. It's all just sick care. The people stranded inland from the 1st hurricane found that out the hard way. They got their help from other states, not the feds. Here's to all the archers following your great system to be better mate. As long as u don't have a setback between now & the big comp I think u will do very well. I'm sure no matter what the conditions r that u won't be let down by your stabilizing kit systems😅🎉.

Sounds like this year has been pretty awful for you weather wise. Luckily here down in NZ we don't get the really bad weather plus the temps are not too bad either. We do get Black flies (we call them Sand flies here) that can be a real pest. I think most places have bad health systems. My daughter has been waiting over a year , in pain and on some strong drugs for the pain, to get her gall bladder removed. Still waiting, and we only have just over 5 million people in the whole country. Good luck on the damage clearing. I must admit, I have never been very flexible, and with 30+ years of working in the Navy, my joints aren't as supple as they used to be, plus the spinal fusion I had doesn't help. However I can still shoot and learning new things everyday and my shooting is slowly getting better. As for the competition, I am looking forward to seeing old friends and and just shooting some longer distances. Stay well buddy and hope you can find a few days to lob some arrows.

@@brookvalleylife724 I would take that. We had a NZ winter last year. Rain & 10" of snow all winter. The year b4 I almost died from removing 90" of snow. It was very, very cold when it wasn't snowing. I wasn't in as good of shape that I am now & 1 more winter month in April & it might have been the end of me. Instead that year we had 5 consecutive days of summer in mid-April. That led to 3X the mosquitos in a week & no spring. Just brutal & ruthless. I don't mind winter but only when it's book-ended with a reseasonable fall & spring.

Just think about this for a second ... In 1978, I was buying premium Aluminium arrow Shafts, (Easton X7), at a wholesale distrubutor for the lowest possible price, and they were costing me AU$10·25 each. This was much cheaper than paying retail price from any shops in Melbourne in 1978. Convert 1978 dollars into 2024 dollars, and I'm sure that I can confidently say that prices today are much, much cheaper than back then. How much is a single Easton X7 going take from your wallet in 2024 in AU$ ? .
@brookvalleylife724
@brookvalleylife724 6 күн бұрын
True, but the process to produce them has made it easier and cheaper and the prices still increase. Yes inflation, and taxes all increase as well and shipping costs have gone through the roof so prices have gone up, but some times it seems companies just want to see what they can get (like the new Ultra View Arrows for over $200 US for 6).

Hi Joseph. This was my second day shooting and I really want to see how good they were and how good my rib was. I took 5 weeks off for the rib and it was good. Still a bit uncomfortable if I put pressure on it (Like sleeping on my left side, which I normally do) but no issues at all shooting. I was really lucky by the looks of things. Looks like you guys in the States have been battered recently with weather problems, from tornadoes to floods and now the hurricanes. Thoughts go out to everyone over there. Plus you have some fun coming up in the beginning of Nov. Hope thing go quietly for you. For the competition I will be shooting my ET15A stellar riser and the 36# N3 Pro limbs with these Avalon stabilisers. I have a set of normal N3 limbs at 36# but the Pro versions are a few feet per second faster and also surprisingly the seem more forgiving on my bad shots. The competition is over 2 days with the first days being a WA 1440 over 70m, 60m, 50m and 30m. The 70 and 60m on 122cm target face and 50 and 30 on 80 cm face. 36 arrows at each and the second day is 2x WA 720 at 60m as I am shooting Masters. (Over 50 in age). So another 144 arrows. Really trying to get my bow fitness up (Next weeks video...)

It seems Andrew that the bar has risen to the point that the equipment called budget isn't cheap in performance. So if it lasts you a decade you are way ahead. So true Joseph. However with some of this "Budget " gear that is now available, I expect that it will last as long as the expensive gear. I have also now got the new Nik'a MT 14mm O/D stabiliser set. This is a full set at a great price. Not sure if it is available fully yet, but I have just shot with them for the first time, and they work really well. I know that the big companies need a good profit on their gear, but listening to people who own shops, it is getting harder for them to stock items and actually sell them. Guess thats why so many archery shops close. My closest is in the North Island here in NZ that is over 800KM away, and it's a small shop as well that only stocks a few brands. So how is your shooting going? Also you still need to drop me a link for your channel so I can see the deer.😁

Hi Andy. I bought these a few months ago and I really like them. No issues so far and the weights that they come with make them quite easy to tune. I found them to be quite heavy with the weights added to the ends of the dampers, so I run them with just the in built weight and the dampers. I have only one weight on a side rod to add balance. I will work up to having more weight possibly but the bow feels balanced. Since I am only shooting 30lb I think more weight could cause an imbalance between draw arm and bow arm, what are your thoughts on this? I hope you heal quickly and we will see you at the range soon! Leeanne and Ian.

Ok, looks like reply didn't show up. Shot them this morning at home at 18m for the first time and thought that I could possibly but a bit more weight on the front to make it more stable for me. That's just how I like them, but they were very good and well balanced. Just what I am after in a small diameter and relatively stiff rod. Damping was very good when matched with my riser and limbs. Riser and limbs are pretty good though. As you said, too much weight and you defeat what you are looking for and will really struggle to hold the bow still. My rib is getting better. No pain when shooting but if I lean on it, you know it's there. Hope you have a good time in Christchurch for the indoor shoot. How did it go? Leeanne banging them in there as always.... The N3 limbs are amazing for the price. They are fast and vibration is good with very little. Add a damper and stabiliser and they are very good. The N3 Pro limbs are a step above. These are faster (not alot but can be measured) as well as they seem to be more torsionally stable. I found them more forgiving on a bad shot. Vibration is, maybe a bit less, but difficult to see a measurable difference to the original N3 limbs. They are both really smooth to draw and with little or no stacking , which I really enjoy. I believe that I paid right around $70 US for it & I ordered many items including the Pandarus Icepoint shafts. My arrow squaring tool is similar to yours & it's a Lumenok F.A.S.T. (fletched arrow squaring tool). This really is of utmost importance if you want to tune your arrow to match your shooting gear. Miss one step of the process like cutting the arrow too short or the spine being too stiff will pretty much wreck a dozen shafts. One thing I notice is that many trad shooters don't even give a thought about the length of their arrows compared to compound shooters who want it to be as close to the end of their arrow rest? @@josephtreadlightly5686 I am with you about the arrows. If they are mis-matched in any way (length, weight spine) then you will start of with an inconsistency. My arrows are all cut together, and I weigh everything to make sure they are within 5 grains ( I try to make it less usually). As you said, if you cut too much off then not only will they be too short but also the spine changes and that brand new set of arrows are useless. I finished off making my 2 new sets of outdoor (700 spine) arrows yesterday, as I still can't shoot. They look good and I am hoping they fly well. Not good about still feeling discomfort. I did have one time where I turned on that arrow cutter & it didn't power up. But it makes very nice cut just like a shop cutter but not as heavy. Try some light stretching to stay limber. The Beiter stabs have plenty of life left in them and I may go back to them but was wanting to try something different to see if there was any difference. So far not a lot of difference seen and I will get back to testing in the next few weeks (hopefully).

I might be the only bloke that knew u weren't ending anything but just getting a set-back. Plus you're not an idiot either but u did put the cart b4 the horse like I did in the light mist with darkness that evening in late October. 6 weeks ago I put down a 60# box just below chest level @ work. I did feel that pain from the last October incident, but I've always thought it felt more like cartilage & not bone. But I'm fine & I'm going to climb a tree b4 I finish the day cutting up that maple tree that's blocking my archery range & backstop. I do have a video on my KZbin channel Andrew from that August 29th storm that I shot the next day. All those trees down in the video where on the other side of a 9 foot fence & they were tossed from the outside into the enclosed area. It's still pretty overwhelming. Take care.🎉

Guess you could call it clickbait, but I have never done it before... Can you send me your channel name. Be great to see where you live and also be careful with your back. I have had a back problem before that started off small and turned into spinal fusion. Be careful and hope thing are back to normal soon.

Got to disagree, and I guess alot of people would as well. They are fantastic arrows and I have had no issues with my sets and those who have used them that I know, have nothing but good things to say about them.

People should not buy those risers! Even if the quality is ok, the people in Hoyt invested a lot of time, effort and money into designing the Xceed. It is criminal that someone else should profit off someone else’s hard work. If the manufacturer of that riser had any integrity, they would design their own riser. If a beginner archery wants a quality bow at an affordable price they can buy a secondhand Hoyt or W&W or MK or Sammick or whatever.

Hi Andrew, I wonder if these r better grips than the ones that Jake Kaminski makes for his risers that don't fit his hand or grip style? I would say yes just for the angle & simplicity that 3D printer can give u. I have a good sized tree right in front of my double target face & backstop. Thursday afternoon there was 2 tornados within 2 miles of home & they were 5 minutes apart. I took a direct hit from the earlier one & it will be months b4 I will be able to restore the whole property. Hoping the weather cools here since this muggy & dreadful weather has put us in this dilemma. 😮

Oh crap. As long as you are ok is the main thing. Only had to deal with tornados once or twice and they are scary. Jake actually has designed grips for RCore. The ones I got are great and help a lot. So it looks like we both have some bad luck, as you will see in my next video. No shooting for me for at least 4 weeks. Fell off a step ladder and a chest of drawers broke my fall. Well my ribs and the draws came together to stop me falling and my ribs came of second best, so I have busted ribs. Bit painful but i'm alive 🤕

@@brookvalleylife724 Is this rib injury from what u told me a week ago? I think that injury is something that comes down to pain tolerance. But i know it can exist for weeks & being stiff in cold weather & then u turn in a certain direction & u have a setback. Such a frustrating injury when it comes to ribs &/or cartilage.

@@josephtreadlightly5686 if its the falling of a step ladder doing DIY, then yes. Thought I may have bruised them , but turns out I busted them. Got to wait untill they start mending before I can shoot again. Min of 3 weeks.... with no heavy lifting in between.

I see your release has improved good work but how much do you pay for the R core grip
@brookvalleylife724
@brookvalleylife724 Ай бұрын
Hi Anthony. Still working on it. I paid $133 US for 2 grips. If they made these in the material that Nik'a use they would be perfect, but these are very good.

Your shoulders do not seem to be in line, and the front shoulder does not look set correctly - surely it is impossible to achieve any aiming stability like this?

I really have an issue with something on my fingers when I shoot. That is why I use a wrist sling. Any advice to improve??
@chemicalmisery
@chemicalmisery 2 ай бұрын
@@brookvalleylife724 The bow should be jumping straight forwards out of your hand, towards the target. It looks like you're grabbing the grip as you release. Even just letting the bow slide through your fingers helps, but if you don't let the bow jump forward, there's no way in hell the arrow will go straight. If the bow doesn't feel like it wants to jump forward, then you've either got waaaay too much weight on the side rods or something is fundamentally wrong with your shoulder and front arm alignment, causing a full system collapse.
