Great work, appreciate the effort.. I've added some tilta seamless focus gear rings to my lenes.. I'm assuming the gear ring on the lens wears out over time from the motors??? Look forward to seeing how this cage evolves 👍

Hey mate! With your showreel, the edit fits the music well but, and this is totally personal preference, I'd say some of the shots are too quick for me to get a real grasp on them. Otherwise I enjoyed it! I agree the music is so difficult to find! I've had tracks I like in a saved playlist and go back to them a month later and don't like them any more haha. Either way great work!

Timley video! Very handy thank-you. I've just ordered the Tilta Pro kit too. Been scratching my head looking at the images for how to get a 7" monitor on there as my experiences with a coldshoe mounted monitors has not been great - always needs re-tightening, and I've had two cold shoe monitor mounts break on me. Its the price of the Tilta that got me though, so so much cheaper. For now, it will have to do!
@videographerstuff539
@videographerstuff539 3 сағат бұрын
Yeah the price is pretty wild for what you get for sure. I’m thinking the long mid49 speedball might do the trick for a 7” monitor. I wish we could actually try this stuff out at shops first!

Love seeing your setup. I wanted to go with the Tilta Vmount plate but couldn't find on in stock. Tried to reach out to Tilta a couple different ways to get an estimate and they never replied so I ended up going with the Wooden camera v-mount and VCT base. So far super happy with that. I do need to rig up a top plate and handle so I can get a better CoG for my Easyrig ball. Also want to do the Mid49 mini XLR to XLR kit and mount that off one of the side rails.
@videographerstuff539
@videographerstuff539 17 сағат бұрын
Wooden camera stuff is solid, you won’t have any issues with it. A sliding top handle would be great for those finer CoG adjustments. I think both bright tangerine and mid49 have those as an option. Just not sure how far the mid49 can move. Yeah the mid49 breakout looks awesome, I’m very interested!!

I would use a rod clamp and put on the same rod that holds the monitor. Could use an extra rod with a right angle rod adapter to change orientation. Tbh I dont like the tilta cage, it's missing mounting points and has less configurations compared to mid49 or wooden camera cages, but I do understand it's much more affordable. keep on sharing ! :)

Please take off the plastic film on the vlock plate. For the transmitter you could use the same quick release plate but just put a receiver on the side plate. Or even just some Velcro on the side and back of the block battery or side plate. You could also do a nato rail on the base of the transmitter and small block nato clamp on the top handle instead of the cold shoe mount.

Would you believe I haven’t had a chance to put it on yet!?! I’m hoping to get it on late this week. The v lock mount on the Tilta looks good, I’m excited for the placement of it. I actually have an old zacuto shoulder rig that i will be able to do a side by side with as well. It’s only the arm, shoulder rig and rail support, doesn’t have a cage parts. But should give you a good idea. Also I’m just waiting on the mid49 monitor arm to arrive as well. Double also, I had a z-finder back in the 5d days which I loved, that would be pretty handy on the c400. The screen can be hard to screen in harsh direct sunlight. For the moment I’m not going to invest in that, but defs a good option!! I’m only worry is that I use the auto focus a bunch and enjoy the touch screen for focus tracking. I think I’d find it tricky to not have access to that while a z-finder was over the screen. Thoughts?

The RAW looks great! Have you also tested the C400 for live-streaming? I was wondering if I have 4 sound sources in the C400: 2 speakers from the Rode Wireless Pro on the left and right channels fed into one of the XLRs, stereo sound from the Rode VideoMicX into the second XLR and a Rode VideoMic NTG directional microphone (which I love for the possibility of manual adjustment) inserted into the mic jack - would I be able to mix all of these tracks live in the camera in such a way as to output balanced sound suitable for live streaming via SDI? Hi, what camera do you have? It will depend on whether or not the camera has 3.5mm or xlr ports. Plus some cameras don’t have phantom power so then you need a mic that supplies its own power vis battery. If you are wanting to use it on camera as well as boomed sometimes then a shorter mic is useful due to the size. Depending what camera you have I can list some options that I think are good.

Note: It's always worth reading the manual for the monitor. Mine has 12V written on the monitor DC input but the manual actually says 7-24 volts. This means that any of the outputs will power the camera and the monitor. I have powered mine with the 8V DC, the 12V DC the USB-C the USB-A and the D-Tap 16V. All without any special cables. equally i can use the USB-C to power the camera with a normal cable. My only gripe about the battery is the DC outputs on the top. I don't like their placement as I prefer them on the side. Also I would prefer all the ports to have their own specific rubber plug rather than sharing. I now run the monitor on the D-Tap and the Camera on USB-C ports.

Neewer PS099E Battery STRESS test RESULTS. Camera used = Panasonic S5ii Camera 'RECORDING' 6K V-LOG 24fps 4.2.0. onto two SD cards. The Image stabilization was 'ON' and I was rocking camera intermittently to work IBIS. Monitor used = Feelworld LUT7" 2200-nit Ultra Bright monitor 4K. I had screen brightness on 100% with LUT Assist turned on. From FULL 100% charge the NEEWER PS099E battery lasted ""3hrs 35mins"" VERY RESPECTABLE!!! Interesting spec: The last 10% lasted 15 minutes before going to ZERO and the battery icon started to flash, BUT IT KEPT GOING!! ZERO % lasted a further 10 Minutes and the battery shut down FULLY DRAINED. To be clear:: I WRANG EVERY LAST DROP OUT OF THIS BATTERY. IT WAS UTTERLY DEPLETED. ------------------------------------------------- Charging battery with 65W turbo charger & 100W charge cable (USB-C to USB-C) from FULLY DRAINED. 15 minute charge = 15% 30 minute charge = 30% 60 minute charge = 59% 88 minute charge = 80% 100 minute charge = 84% 115 minute charge = 90% 120 minute charge = 91% 155 minute charge = 100% FULLY CHARGED Conclusion: Up until 55 minutes you get a good solid watt per minute. Then it starts to drop off slowly at first but at 80% it takes A LOT longer per watt. That very last 1% took 15 minutes. However other claims that this battery takes 3 hours to charge are wildly off by a considerable margin this was 2hrs 35mins DONE. I reckon if I went out with a fully charged OEM Panasonic battery in the camera. And two of the smaller NP-F330 Sony batteries on the monitor (Keep the weight down) I could shoot all day and not change a battery once. Nice.

awesome that's great news! I'm planning on keeping my R5C and getting a C80 in a few months glad to know they'll match pretty well hopefully (if the C400 and C80 image is the same)

@videographerstuff539 Ай бұрын
Yeah I think that’s a pretty fair assumption. The c80 should look the same unless they process differently or something. The other variables like different lenses and nd might make a difference, but that’s excepted. Those two cameras will be a great combo!

May I ask what you used a sport light mount for? Isn’t it too harsh and unflattering for a subject?
@videographerstuff539
@videographerstuff539 Ай бұрын
Hey Luke, you mostly would not use it on a subject unless you were wanting harsh light etc. but they are mostly used to create shape and texture on backgrounds or foregrounds. You can put these little disks in call gobos and they have shapes on them then you can project those shapes onto a wall or ground etc. like a tree pattern, blinds, any shape really. The other reason to use it is that it intensifies the light and throws it further. So really good when shooting wide but still needing to can an edge light or hair light in on the subjects.

@@LukeSchaeferFilmsif as DPs we only light the subject we are not doing our job. I recently heard the idea that when it comes to lighting the job is to “create pools of light” across an image and I think that’s apt.

I heard a 3 person talk with some guys. I guess you were one of the 3. The footage overlaps. Really nice look. Any DeNoise here? If this is out of camera... wow. Minus the grade of course.

Hey there, no denoise added in post. Just the in-camera that would be processed in xf avc. The only thing I did in post was add the canon clog 2 to rec 709 LUT.

Quality is pretty good but isn't that lens supposed to have built in IBIS stabilization? Why is it so shaky and unstable? Will definitely have to put that camera on a gimbal
@videographerstuff539
@videographerstuff539 Ай бұрын
To be fair I was hand holding it for like 3 hours. It’s about 4.5kg paired with that lens. Then I was on a ferry, so trying to stand and film hand held is rather difficult. Maybe a stronger camera operator would be able to be more Steady. That was one of the reasons I wanted to shot these examples @ 25fps, so that there was no hiding behind slowmo.
