I made the long sleeve Curlew top several years ago and it was an absolute bear to put in and take off

I agree It does run a bit smaller , I taught it as a class and made students fit the top part and sleeves to help with that issue. Thanks for sharing your comment I appreciate it :)

Thanks - I really found this helpful as the instructions in the book aren’t terribly clear!

Thank you so much for your very clear explanation. I couldn't for the live of me figure out how to get the lining of the sleeves attached. You are a life saver!

I'm attempting this for the first time and am getting very confused at just pinning the fronts and back! Do the notches near the neck line not match? Should I ignore them and bodge it by eye?
@tinamarie2665 Жыл бұрын
So Sorry just saw this! You have to spread them over the pivot point you cut in an earlier step(3) You want to make sure your shoulder lines are even and I would pin those first. The fabric around the neck will slightly fall below those pivot points on either side like in the picture in step 7 and 8. I hope that helps!

also - it helps me if I baste it together first if the instructions are confusing :)

I got the book two years ago but decided to make this jacket recently, I made a muslin first and was lucky to see your video, watched 5 times already. Very very helpfull, thank you so much. I am at point 19 on my real jacket but very confident now. I couldn’t have made it so smoothly without you. Thank you again.

Hello Tina Marie! Great video. I liked the explanation and the visual on how to attach bias tape. I've never cut darts open like that before and it makes me a little nervous thinking about it, lol. Looking forward to seeing how it looks, maybe you've already posted that. Thanks so much! Angela ADDED - nevermind, just saw the photo on the thumbnail. Nice job!

Hello Angela! Thank you so much :) I really suggest doing a muslin first (I agree, very scary to cut a dart) at least a half side to see the bust dart on you and where it falls , my bust is small so I had a lot of of extra fabric at the top above the dart. I also had to extend my dart to be a bit longer. Good Luck and let me know how it turns out!

Thanks for the tutorial! Sewing the back and front together along the pivot point is really tricky but you made it really easy!
