Hi ToomsDK I am Dane too but thought i write in english. I am in progress of buying a small metal lathe too, an i have been tons of youtube videos to decide. I am tempted to buy chinese, but i then saw your video on the Rotwerk 350, this machine looks very nice, and robust, an i like the digital readout. Are you still happy with it? Does it have auto feed, and can i make thread on it? My main use will be plastic (POM) and alluminium milling. My only concern it the motor power and the through hole in the chuck spindle, but i am not working with very large items. Regards Martin

I will add that I observed on a 1812+ that when a disk failed (r10) the whole interface slowed down completely. During rebuild it was OK though but as long as the failed disk was in it was turtles and not the ninja type

kemppi is very expensive tig machine. no reason to buy one if you dont use minilog. there are cheaper options. at work i pretty much only use kemppi though. never seen a foot pedal in real life, only on youtube videos. been welding for living for 15 years..

Awesome! I have a core i5 dell optiplex 3020 running pfsense off a 256gb samsung 860 ssd. It uses around 22 watts idle as well, about 34 watts if I route a full non-blocking 1gbps from WAN to LAN. I was thinking of possibly isolating the pfsense and encapsulating it in vmware on this box, that way I can run my ubiquiti unifi controller on a second Ubuntu VM. I have 8GB of RAM to spare and with 256GB of storage and an Intel 4 port NIC, I should have plenty of headroom for such a setup. Because its in my home for home internet, low wattage is a must.
