The energy, arrangement, singing and playing in this song are amazing. If this were a cut from a Beatles album like Revolver, it would fit in nicely. It is that damn good. Raiders were a partial answer to the British invasion, no doubt.

If you want to see corny check out Freddy and the Dreamers. I remember seeing them for the first time on Ed Sullivan. I was 15 and thought , “no!” LOL Lately I’ve been listening to “Friday on my mind” by the Easy Beats. Such a good song that stands up today.

Corny? Sure but fun. Now everyone in music expects us to take them seriously and they are often the last people anyone should take seriously.

Mark Lindsay was the perfect frontman; tall, great looking, energetic, great singer. The group antics made them more entertaining than some bands. I remember reading an article on him in one of the teen mags, where they asked why he wasn't already married. At the ripe old age of 26! Imagine. I was 15 so too young for him 😂

They were regulars on the show Where the Action is. There was a guitar player nicknamed the Fang which was spelled on the back of his guitar. I was all of 11yrs old. They were the coolest.

Those look like painted paper plates on the wall. It's so fun and unpretentious. Perfect in the 1960's.

Did anybody catch the drummer in the intro. His lift hand twirled the stick, then his right hand flip the stick, and he drops it, while the organ player pointed it out and laughed. These guys were just as fun and funny as they were talented.

This and Just Like Me are my two favorite Raiders songs, and I love a lot of Mark's solo stuff. As far as them and The Monkees and whoever else being packaged, so was most of Motown! But I love almost all of that, too...

Nothing plugged in! No wires from the guitars. no wires plugged into Paul's organ. No amps on stage. Where's all that great sound come from? Only Mark Lindsay's microphone has a cord, so he can swing it around!

We loved sailing on the NORWAY, sailed her 3 times. 1992, 1994 and 2002. A marvelous one of a kind. I took a lot of interior and exterior shots of her. The ships in St. Maarten are the FESTIVAL and WESTERDAM.
