Dang clever. What was the total cost vs what a “real” one would cost? You sound American but is that Home Depot in BC by chance?

Looove this! Needed a new method of tracking my COGS! Question: since FL OZ & OZ has a different weight…. do you calculate your liquid oils in FL OZ and your butters/powders/clays in standard OZ? -or- do you calculate all ingredients in standard OZ?

Great. But I wonder how come the suggar does not disolve?
@TheElementSoap
@TheElementSoap 8 ай бұрын
Great question! Due to the water content, the sugar will generally start dissolving after sitting up for a few months. Because there's so much sugar, a bit will still be left but much of it will dissolve into a syrup like consistency in the bottom of the container

Thank you for this very detailed video. I just started making soap and it went well but I wanted to learn more than just the recipe I have. I chose to put all sorts of oils and yes they did work for my skin but for selling, I have learned to minimize those oils due to cost :)

@@TheElementSoap the pointer is called a pointer for a reason .-) [btw: you don't need a hidden formula to round a number. Two options: Select the range of numbers you want to affect, (1) on the "Home" tab click on "Decrease Decimal" (a small icon above the number tab) OR (2) on the "Number" tab choose the option "Number" then choose the number of decimals and Bob 's your uncle. ]

Greetings! My apologies for such a delayed response. My recipe is a dual lye recipe. It uses both Potassium Hydroxide (Liquid soap) and Sodium Hydroxide (Solid/Bar soap). I started adding sodium hydroxide so I could naturally get a slightly thicker liquid soap without needing any commercial thickeners. Hope this helps! ;)

Hi there. Thanks sis. This was very informative, detailed and very concise. Quite helpful. I am a black American living in Africa for 2 years now. I own a company of 8 years that specializes in natural hair and skin care. Wanted to try my hand at soap, but felt the market was oversaturated in my state, back in USA. I am now so happy to be pursuing this on African soil and filling in a much needed gap in the natural product industry here. I have been doing a lot of research to make the shift to soap making and this video helped. Best to you and thanks again.

@@TheElementSoap wow thanks so so much for such a quick response!! I’m literally following your video step by step as I’m new to this and not familiar at all with creating labels on word doc. Should I create my table with 5 columns and 4 rows? Also, in your video (minute 1:24) when you talk about the height for the first row do I make it 2.25-2.5 in. tall? My bars of soaps measure 3.37 x 1.62 x 1 in. 3 3/8 x 1 5/8 x 1 in. Thank you again for your help!!!

Hi! I I've used HP color laserjet printers exclusively for about 10 years now with no bleeding or smudging. The model I use is HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m281fdw but I don't think they make it anymore. www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m281fdw Save your labels as PDF, open Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version). Go through print properties & set it for label paper. It heats the toner to a higher temp so it fuses with the paper better.
