The Element Soap

In this video, I am restocking my husband's favorite soap: Honeycomb (AKA - Oatmeal, Milk, & Honey.) The video was filmed Jan 18-20, 2019 and I wanted to make enough soap to last my husband throughout my chemo treatments, which begin in a few days. I don't know how the chemo will affect my energy levels, so I wanted to be sure he had enough to last.
I will probably do a vlog about the diagnosis story - I promise it won't be a weepy one. The goal is to have that video published by mid-February. Thanks for watching & welcome to all the new subscribers

Thank you for sharing. It has been 21 years since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After running my fingers through my hair and getting numerous strands in my hand, I decided to remove my hair to avoid seeing large clumps on my pillow. It was empowering. I felt as though I was in charge. The disease was not in control of me. As you journey through survivorship, there are lots of people willing to be supportive. You just need to ask.

Thank you for that reminder. At times, it can be tough to ask for help - especially emotional support.

Thank you for the video! How did you determine how much honey to put in?
@TheElementSoap
@TheElementSoap 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I normally calculate at up to 1 Tbsp of honey per pound of oils in the recipe. So if it's 10 lbs of soap, 10 Tbsp/5 oz of honey. Be careful though, honey and sugars can cause the batter to overheat.

Hi Cristi, thanks for your really helpful videos, I'm a new subscriber to your channel and found this video after watching your soap mold making video. I'm looking to make 3.5oz bars (or 100g , I'm Australian so work in grams, cm & mm but I can convert it) and I like the look of your dimensions, would you mind sharing the dimensions of your actual soap bars please? T.i.a xo

Would this bar be too cleansing for sensitive skin ? And did you water discount for the coconut milk?
@TheElementSoap

Hi Deanna! Yes, I formulated this soap specifically for my husband, who suffers with eczema. He uses only the soaps that I make. That's actually how I got into in the first place. He has eczema, I have extremely thin, sensitive skin and struggle with psoriasis occasionally. I do a water discount for the coconut milk. Since I use coconut milk in all my soap, i use half water, half coconut milk, typically. Thanks for watching & great questions! ♥

The only thing I would change is to grind the oatmeal up much finer. I was rushing before I filmed this video and didn't grind the oatmeal fine enough like I normally do...this batch came out a bit scratchy.
