There's multiple things happening and none of it is as simple as some hot take on Elon Musk's mother: It boils down to keeping both the American identity and economy alive. I'll take a minute to explain why: First: Birthrates are declining. This is bad for the entire economic model we use today. Younger generations support older generations, think social security. Both GDP and economic growth are entirely dependent on increasing birthrates. Inflation also requires higher birthrates and GDP growth to be healthy. Too much or too little of any of these things and the balance gets all messed up which we've experienced the last few years. China is probably the best example of how this has the potential to collapse a country's economy, even a powerful one. They've got an aging population, low birthrates, an economy that's entirely supported by economic stimulus and rampant inflation. This is also partly why Japan and Italy are struggling. They've got weak currencies and aging populations. They've got other issues too. It's worth a Google search. So there is a narrative out there promoting more children. Bc the country needs it, economically speaking. Second this is partly why there was an immigration crisis at the border. Lower birthrates can be offset by higher immigration. It's essentially the same thing, more people producing more goods and services, growing the economy, bringing in money to social security and helping keep the dollar as a strong currency. The immigration crisis wasn't a political issue, it was an economic issue. Wealthy from both parties made a lot of money from the immigration surge. The federal government also recovered a lot of taxes, helped stimulate artificial growth at the cost of disrupting local communities and local governments. But again immigration needs to be handled sensibly, the last few years it's been handled really badly. Every country needs immigrants in the right balance. Also there is a sense of identity with someone's citizenship status, which you're clearly feeling some sense if patriotism or nationalism when you reference Maye Musk "not being American". She is both an American citizen and an immigrant. Immigrants built America into what it is today. Her son is a good example of what opportunity and hard work can achieve. Like or dislike Elon Musk no one can dispute the fact that he is a very successful and influential person. Also you're probably just hearing snippets and sound bites bc these days news is transmitted in headlines not substance. It's an absolute shame what media has become, not just the mainstream news but everyone's hot take and social media. So having kids can be great, but wait until you're ready and I'm sure she'd agree. I get it's really expensive to have kids these days and it's making it almost impossible to want to have kids but the more American kids that are born the cheaper it will become to raise them. So do what you think is best for you.
@akilahdashacreates17 күн бұрын
I understand what you're saying. However, in terms in what is best for the country, I'd rather not hear it from someone whose son has made it his mission to interfere in the politics of America. He or his mother do not have the right to speak on matters that involve the American people. He is here to specifically line his pockets even the more and gain power. There are American people who can't afford food now, something that Elon has never had to experience. Adding more children to an economy that is already failing with no decrease in sight is irresponsible. So I doubt if people want to hear anyone say it's "more beneficial" to have children than enjoy their life. Also, I listened to the entire segment and my statement still stands. Thank you for replying. Your commentary is appreciated.

Wow, interestingly, I’ve wanted to move to Toronto since I visited back in 2017….but I’m still here in the US. lol. @@akilahdashacreates Toronto would be a luke warm knock off of the Bay but dead dead even more so since covid but visiting will always and forever be a cool experience because of how deeply embedded multiculturalism is here. Also, the CDA dollar has been decimated and that may continue to fall with the major shake-ups in the world. Also, the homelessness issue is an unfortunate phenomenon across the US and Canada. Is it really awful in the Bay? What are the police like? Are their supportive city, community partnerships? Are the industries that are visible loudly supportive of the Bay, or is there the divisiveness that is shown a lot in the media? I'm seriously considering the Bay, and don't want to take that leap under the assumption that the grass is greener, even though it maybe in ways that I need. Also, I read that the Bay is a city of millennials. Is that true and if so how does that impact the culture? And thank you so much for being so open and forthright with sharing your journey! It is so appreciated!
@akilahdashacreates25 күн бұрын
First and foremost, I am cracking up at “Luke warm knock off” 🤣🤣🤣. I think at times, Toronto felt like a get away from all things US. You may have been the extra sign for me to stay my ass here lol! In regards to SF, it’s small but doable. What I do like is that you have everything you need driving distance. The nature is absolutely beautiful. Transportation is fine…I mean Iived in NY so nothing would beat that, however, I do enjoy the option of driving or public transportation. I will tell they love their dogs…you’ll definitely see dogs on public transportation lol. The homelessness is bad…from what I see it’s mostly in the downtown area. It’s a mixture of drugs and mental illness. However, as long as you stay alert you’ll be fine. I will say, if you can…definitely visit as much as possible to make sure that it’s what you want and need. It’s funny because the longer I’m here, the more I realize I manifested what I have here. San Francisco is actually pretty diverse. The police have been fine from what I see. Divisiveness is everywhere but to the extent of what you’re asking, I haven’t seen it. Honestly, any kind of move is gonna be different and you have to find your tribe through common interests. Hope that helps!
