The car has the original untouched stock 50,000 mile 302 engine. It has an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Edelbrock Performer heads, an E303 cam and a Vortech V3 SI tuner kit that makes 12# of boost with the "stock" pulleys that came with it. I have the full list of specs on the video I posted late last year if you are interested. Cheers!

@@luckymanham302Thanks! It takes time, but you will get there! My car sat untouched for quite a few years, having kids takes a lot of your time and money! But I finally pulled it out when the car turned 30 years old and I turned 50 😉. I drove it straight from home to the shop to get worked on... It then sat for over a year and had a lot of work done to it...

Thanks Gary! Next on the list is getting a set of rims with proper offsets. Most likely 17's on the front and I'll stick to 15's on the back so I can run a big drag radial like I have now. I also have to rework my coil over setup on the front because the threads to adjust ride height are stripped beyond a certain point and the ride height cannot be adjusted any lower than it is now. I am also going to get a set of either the Maximum Motorsport or Steeda adjustable lower control arms so I can adjust the ride height on the back. Cheers!

This 830 along with one of the ones that we've had since the early 70's has a creeper first gear in it. A guy should try and weigh one of those 830's up to like 30000 pounds and the thing still wouldn't power out I wager in 1st gear... When I'm pulling on our 830, I pull the throttle stop pin out and idle it way down to ultra low RPM, if I had to guess 400 RPM or less... I still spin the thing out at that low of an RPM. I grew up farming on one, and I love the sound of them!

@@5litremania It's one strong tractor. I have a 1974 model 830 and it's a garden tractor compared to these older one's. It only weighs 4400 lbs and has a 3 cyl, that's only 2.5 liter! Not a tractor for a pulling contest. The sound of the 2 cylinder's are awesome.

Awesome power, torque, traction and it looks like it just came out of the field with no modifications. I have a 1974 830, its a 3 cylinder and weights 4400 lbs, it would be no match for this old workhorse. Not as much torque nor traction. Nothing runs like a Deere. Thanks for sharing.

The D's had the biggest displacement of all the JD 2 cylinder tractors, even bigger than the 820's. Production ran from 1923 until 1953, the longest run of any JD tractor.

I had 3 pair's at one point. 2 pair's with the 5.25 mid and PAL tweeter's and one pair of the original version's with 6.5 mids and soft domes from the factory but I upgraded the older pair to PAL tweeter's as well. Same diaphram so the swap was plug and play. Just had to be careful with them as to not damage the tweeter's as there was'nt a difuser using the soft dome tweeter mounting plates. While rare they aren't impossible to find and I think they sound better than the Studio 100 V1 or V2 that replaced them. I lost all three pair's along with 2 pair's of 11Se-Mk3 that I was using as surrounds. Like the older Monitor studio I swapped PAL tweeter's into the 11Se-Mk3 pair's. These 3 slightly different 3 way tower Paradigm's are my favorite but the Monitor Studio's are the better value. They typically sell for less than used 11Se-Mk3 and allot less than used Studio 100 V1 or V2 despite being the best of the Paradigm's I've owned. I've never owned V3-V5 Studio 100 but they command allot more money than these older Paradigm's. You will not fimd better speaker's for under $500 and the most I paid for a pair was $400 used. Paid double for Studio 100 V1 and $900 for a clean pair of Studio 100 V2. Also paid $450 and $550 for the pair's of 11Se-Mk3. Used Monitor Studio's are the best value by far.

I had a pair of 7SE-MK3's that I bought new as well. My cousin has a pair of the Studio Monitor's with the 6.5" mids. Had them connected to a Pioneer receiver and kept blowing the tweeters on them (clipping the amp). Those 6.5" studios were built like absolute tanks, even compared to my 5.5" Studio Monitors. The 6.5" version had that huge air coil inductor that you could see through the bass ports. And the 6.5" midrange had the same size magnet as the 8" woofers, both made at Paradigm... The 5.5" are Vifa drivers. And yes I found the 6.5" Studios to lack the last bit of "air" with those soft dome Vifa tweeters, so swapping over to the aluminum was a very wise choice. I found the older 6.5" Studios to have a much more powerful and "authoritative" bass response, although my 5.5" are no slouches in that department! ;)
@goaway3487
@goaway3487 5 жыл бұрын
@@5litremania Just so you know those vifa were made to Paradigm specs and Vifa also made the PAL aliminum textile ring hybrid tweeter's for Paradigm. Same exact diaphram and a straight plug and play swap. The old soft domes are superior though, at least to me, to the titanium domes used in the Monitor V1-V4 line. With some slight mods to the stock V1-V4 mounting plates you can install PAL in them as well or even convert V1-V4 monitor series to soft domes with one catch. Converting V1-V4 Monitor's to the old Paradigm textile soft domes requires cutting out the difusers in the stock mounting plates of the monitor V1-V4. PAL were used in all the later original Monitor and BP lines and carried over through Studio V1 and V2. My first pair of Paradigm were also 7Se-Mk3 and the only pair of Paradigm I've ever bought new.

Those poor ponies went through so much abuse. Not getting proper time to warm up and constantly starting and stopping and crankin that big engine. If you rebuild it then treat it gently and warm up it shouldn’t smoke.

Mine are still going strong. I was most impressed with fullness of sound with solid lower bass response. Bought brand new in '91 were stored between '99 - 2008 didn't miss a beat i have always tri-wired and bi-wired these with tight base. Need high damping factor measurement from amp to achieve best results.Still not quite ready to part with them quite yet, but - i do have my sight on a pair of Sonus Fabers - we shall see

I am still using mine! This combo gets used pretty much daily, mainly for watching movies. My room has a vaulted ceiling and is fairly large and I get excellent bass response from the set. Only minor issue with the sub is that the "auto on" doesn't work, the sub is always on now. I was told a capacitor is all it needs but I haven't bothered to get it fixed.
