I'm on my 4th pair of progressive lenses and have not been able to adjust. I feel unsteady on my feet walking or going up and down stairs and they do not give me enough room to read. It's been years since I've enjoyed reading a book.

I had bifocals for years, but when I needed an intermediate Rx, rather than tri-focals, I went to progressives. HOWEVER, all was not perfect. As you said, I found myself having to move my head left/right/up/down, to find the EXACT spot on the lens that would focus what I was looking at, say the clock. That became a Pain in the Neck. After a few years, I gave up and went to lined tri-focals. MUCH BETTER. But I lost the continuous intermediate Rx that a progressive provides. sigh.

I am going back to bifocals, too. What a scam these progressive lenses are.

Would you say bi-focals - even though old school technology - work better in a way, such as easier to get used to? For years I have been just using light magnification reading glasses 125 magnification for driving and TV etc. ...and strong reading glasses 325 for reading and computer. The only problem is the switciing plus having to always carry two pairs.

Serious question, how does body work like a clockwork. I turned 40 recently and last year I started not being able to see easily. How does body know? What is the science behind this punctuality at every human?

I have tried both progressive and bifocal over the years. But I sticked to bifocal for good; cheaper, not easily scratched, and feels natural for me..

I find progressive lens worse than reading glasses. I cannot see KZbin comments on top portion of the progressive lens, middle portion looks blurry . Only with lower portion of the progressive lens I can see the words/ sentences clearly. So I have to adjust my head up and down in order to read the comments and this is very much irritating and frustrating. This does not happen with powered reading glasses. I do not have to move my head or eyes in order to see things clearly. My laptop is 50 cm away from my vision.

Thanks so much for this informative video. I'm shopping right now for frames for progressives, and yours are exactly what I'm looking for. Would you please tell me the brand, item number and where I might find them? I'm looking to purchase online, Zennioptical , Warby Parker or with whoever sells them. I would really appreciate it. Also, I've subscribed to your videos to learn more before I purchase.

if you have just reading glass with lowest +1~ +1.25 diopters , you will be able to read and see the computer screen fine . you can add blue light coated as well; only for driving you need to see the distance correctly otherwise , distant light comes parallel and does not affect that much because reading glass cannot modify the parallel light rays ! why am i explaining this because progressive lens could give you more headaches because of eyes strain ! so just use reading glass with one single lens is good enough ! those who are MYOPIC (short sighted ) and have ASTIGMATISM , they need to see an optometrist to get prescription lens for correcting myopia and astigmatism.
