I bought one of these wheels except mine has extended legs but I still had to raise it up a bit. I'm just a beginner and had seen several potters review it as a good low budget beginning wheel. I have yet to throw anything above 1.5 pounds but did see one guy throw 8 pounds on it successfully.

...I am prob'ly in the minority, but I prefer the red clay. Make more , please! 🤪 You prob'ly dont wanna make inventory, if it ends up sitting on the shelf. I get it. Regarding shipping/packing, what happens when Martha orders several hundred pots for her greenhouses-- do you just load them up in your truck and deliver them in person? I know she likes the grey color. 😮🤷🏼♀️ 👩🏼🌾💚 =^..^=

@@JaySDunham I stamp every pot with my name and a number which indicates the poundage of wet clay used to make the piece. This a the way we structure our pricing system. I sign each pot on the bottom simply Ben but it comes out looking like BW so it works out 😂

I’ve been taking throwing classes for two years and would consider myself “intermediate.” I’m going to invest in a wheel (and all the other home studio things - the rabbit hole is deep!). My studio uses Pacifica wheels (gt400), Brent’s are a classic standard, and you (and other folks who sell pottery) use a Shimpo. Varied pricing, I know, but I’m prepared to invest if it’s worth it. Any opinion on brand based on experience?
@benwolffpottery8 күн бұрын
@@laurawilkinson2629 Nice! best of luck to you on your pottery journey 😀😀 Honestly my go to have been the shimpo rk and have no complaints with those as they have lasted me 25+ years. I have thrown on Brent’s at demonstrations and they are really great too. I stand up while throwing so the hand crank for rpm is why I love the shimpo and the quietness. This little wheel I tested is great but I have no idea the longevity of it 🤷🏻♂️😀👍
@sabrinassuburbangarden94489 күн бұрын
Yes, Ben, it would be interesting to see you throw the largest pot that the wheel can take.
