Love it man! From one Beatles fan to another, it really sounds a lot like something Paul McCartney would write. Looking forward to the release Ellis 👏🙌

Thanks man! And yeah I did use some Beatles songs as inspiration, I’m wondering if you can guess which ones 🤔😂

very informative; touching song... I use Rode condenser for taking my vocals; always have to struggle with getting some harshness around 4k fixed. How did you get such smooth vocals ?
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 23 күн бұрын
Thank you for the comment! Vocals are a pain to get right! One thing you can do is to just make sure you have a microphone that matches your voice, because every microphone has a sound to it and with match different voices. For example, if (like me) you have a very warm voice then you don’t want to choose a warm sounding microphone because that’s just going to add more warmth, this the same with brightness and the same with harshness. In the end for this vocal I used a Neumann TLM102 because that’s a bright sounding microphone which matched and complimented my warm voice. But if you are struggling with harshness at 4kHz after recording, most often than not it’s nothing a little EQ can’t help with in post. Especially if it’s a specific frequency you can use a sharp bell curve and just chop it right out! I’ve had times before where there is a very harsh ringing at around 2.5kHz and just had to use EQ to cut it out. Hope this helped at all! 😁👍

Spiff seems amazing plugin but do you think it's worth the price as it's quite expensive?
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 28 күн бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I agree it is very expensive, but keep in mind I only showed you one feature in the video and there’s lots more you can do with it. I just heard lots of good things about it and I’ve enjoyed using it so far. But if you’re looking for a plug-in solely for removing mouth clicks there are lots of free plugins for that I think.

Hey man, nice vid!! Just some constructive advice, maybe reduce the jump cuts as it’s a little jarring. I think a more natural flow would benefit what you’re trying to show. Have a good one!

This actually surprised me a lot! Usually I’m not the biggest fan of the woodwinds being used as a vocal replacement (although I wouldn’t know which instrument you could use alternatively), but here it works incredibly well! I’m a really big fan of your arrangements, they are genuinely quite stunning!
