Hey man! How do you change the tempo in a single project? Since I see that there are songs on GarageBand of 4/4, and then 6/8, and like this:) Please tell me how to do it!:)
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 3 жыл бұрын
There are 4 beats in 4/4, and 6 beats in 6/8 right? So what I do is I set 4 notes to each beat and then zoom in until you get smaller segments. If you count how many smaller segments there are in one beat, there’s 16. So, I get a calculator and divide that by 3 to get 5.33*. And that’s how long each note should be. Hope this helps 👍

What drums did you use?
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 3 жыл бұрын
For the drums I used a different drum kit for each part e.g. snare, kick drum etc. This is what I used: Liverpool drum kit - kick drum and cymbals Neo soul drum kit - hi hat Liverpool drum kit - snare Classic studio drum kit - Tom toms But, to make it easier I first programmed the midi into one track and then just copy and pasted them on to each new track and removed what I didn’t need. Hope this helped!

How do you do the hammer sound?
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment! To get the hammer sound, I used a combination of a cowbell from the ‘Latin’ percussion, and the wood sticks and hanging cymbal thingy from the Taiko drums in the ‘Japanese traditional’ pack from the sound library. Also, I edited the sound of them all by fully reducing the bass and turning up the treble to the max. Hope this helped! 😁

Heyo what did you use for the white noise in she’s so heavy? and billy preston’s organ? sounds really cool :)
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry it took me awhile to get to replying to your comment. This was quite a while ago but I remember the white noise being composed of a distorted soul organ, and a synth which I don’t remember the name of. Billie Preston’s organ solo was a classic rock organ with full distortion, chorus, and percussion turned to ‘2nd’. Hope this helped! 😁😁

If you ever do something like this again, there is a easy way to put all the songs together. Just put all the songs in a .wav file. Then you can make a new song and just connect all the tracks. I explained that bad. If you look at my ussr cover, you’ll know what I mean.

You can’t put songs In GarageBand in 12/8 lmao You can only 4/4,3/4 and 6/8. Either way, it makes 0 difference which time signature he puts it in (6/8 or 12/8) as it gives no difference to the music.

what drums did you use?
@EllisTateMusic
@EllisTateMusic 2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate the question man, I’ll try to answer as best I can. For the drum set used on Abbey Road I used many drum sounds to create a custom drum kit of sorts. (And which drum set I use for each sound could vary from song to song) I used the Liverpool kit for the kick, snare, and cymbals, I used the Neo Soul kit for the hi-hat, and I used the Classic Studio Kit for the toms. To make it easier though I would create the drums for the whole song first on a single drum kit and then separate them into the different tracks afterwards by copy and pasting them over and deleting what you don’t want. Hope this helped man 👍
